Blue Lock: Beyond Greatness

Chapter 131: [131] Blue Lock's New Phase

Once all the selections were finalized, Shinichi claimed the random attribute reward for athletic excellence, which was allocated to his already maxed-out flexibility, raising it to 100.

Immediately, his second triple-digit attribute appeared, triggering the familiar choice interface:

[Ding! Your flexibility has reached 100 points. You may now select a special effect that will enhance all actions involving flexibility.]

1. Yoga: Grants the ability to perform movements that defy normal comprehension, further improving your body's suppleness.

2. Precision: Provides a bonus to fine motor tasks, making your fingers even more nimble.

3. Unyielding: Exceptional flexibility greatly enhances your sense of balance, allowing you to remain steady even under unstable conditions and recover quickly.

4. Contortionist: Makes it easier to squeeze through tight spaces, as you can shrink and adapt your body to fit.

Without much hesitation, Shinichi chose Unyielding. During the match against the U20 national team, he realized how frequently opponents would double-team him, forcing him to expend tremendous effort to maintain balance.

Keeping his movements stable was also crucial for shooting. Compared to the yoga effect—rarely needed in football's extreme maneuvers—Unyielding offered broader utility.

As for the extra evergreen point to assign, Shinichi opted to enhance his strength. Finally, when it came to his talent perk, he selected the scarlet-tier talent descriptor. The original golden talent merged with this new scarlet hue, transforming into a pure, radiant red.

Suddenly, a peculiar sensation swept through Shinichi's entire body. Unlike the direct stat boosts from other descriptors, this felt as though he had undergone a transformation on an entirely new level.

Talent (Gold → Red): A talent beyond measure. Whatever you set out to do, you'll quickly master it, as brilliance constantly surrounds you. (All stats +1)

From that moment on, Shinichi's personal panel underwent a dramatic change.

This time's outcome, while not resulting in any substantial leaps in attributes, laid the groundwork for enormous future potential.

Take the Evergreen trait as an example. Although he had accomplished impressive feats in the Blue Lock environment—deeds that might seem legendary to others—these were, in truth, akin to mere playground matches until he officially joined a professional league.

The single most notable achievement to date was the U20 match. Even so, that one match alone earned him a precious attribute point.

By that logic, capturing the World Cup trophy might very well award him ten or more points outright.

Additionally, in the upcoming Hero Wars phase, directly defeating top-tier players should also yield significant rewards.

As for the A Beautiful Boy in the Sports World trait, he knew his performance in the U20 match undoubtedly garnered a decent number of fans.

But realistically, how many could it attract from just one game? Ten thousand would be quite impressive. Even so, that was enough to earn another attribute point.

If he can become a top-tier player, attracting millions of fans would be well within reach. This single descriptor alone could grant him dozens of attribute points!

So far, the most beneficial descriptor, "Monster," had only provided him with 14 attribute points. The contrast was clear: while these low-tier traits with straightforward bonuses gave an immediate edge, the potential of the red descriptors far exceeded their limits.

"Whew..." Shinichi exhaled deeply and stood, pushing open the door before him. Waiting outside, leaning casually against the wall, was Ego. "Finally done, huh?"

"Get ready, you don't have much time. We still need to hammer out the next phase of the plan." Ego tossed a stack of documents to Shinichi, gesturing for him to take it. "Oh, and don't forget to meet your new teammates."

"Got it, but it's not like you've left much up for debate, right? I doubt you'd let anyone tamper with your plans." Shinichi casually glanced through a few pages, then closed the well-prepared documents.

"Alright, let's go. I'm actually looking forward to meeting the legendary president of the World Football Association."

"Just be ready. Those people are the kind of cutthroat capitalists who wouldn't hesitate to tear you apart... though, you're one of them yourself." Ego led the way, taking Shinichi to Blue Lock's conference room.

The walls were covered in massive monitors, each one displaying the faces of influential figures from various leagues and clubs.

"Oh, Mr. Jinpachi, you're finally here. We've been waiting for ages," said the elderly man sitting in the executive chair, his face obscured by a hat and sunglasses. "And this rising star—I like your 'variety show,' but are you sure this project will actually succeed?"

"Yes," chimed in a slicked-back man, resting his chin in his hand, "it looks promising, but the risks can't be ignored. A failure could cause immeasurable damage to our commercial value." He was about to continue lowballing the venture's worth, but Shinichi cut him off sharply.

"Sure, the first round of promotion was edited like a variety show, but let's get one thing straight." Shinichi and Ego walked to the center of the room and sat down.

With a snap of his fingers, a montage of footage flashed on the screen: players being lured into Blue Lock by Ego and facing off against one another during the initial elimination phase.

Then Shinichi waved his right hand, and the projection shifted to images of five top-tier players, including Noel Noa, lined up against Shinichi's own team. The imagery was clear and powerful.

"We're not here to play around making money or doing some kid's variety show. If that were the case, I wouldn't need any of you. I could take this whole cake on my own."

"The support of the Big Five Leagues and the World Football Association can turn Blue Lock into something truly global. That's why I invited you—to share this pie, not to merely play games."

"The new cradle of world football—an NCAA-like entity for global football. If the goal is to expand football's influence worldwide, this seems like a solid proposal."

"Interesting. In that case, we'll agree to join." The sharply dressed elite in a suit and tie was the first to voice agreement, followed by nods from the other participants.

Finally, the dignified elder, after a brief pause, gave his measured reply in a deep tone: "If there are sufficient returns, then... alright."

"Excellent. With that, Blue Lock's next phase—the supernova explosion—begins now."
