A murderous Reiatsu erupted from the unfamiliar Shinigami as he charged toward Aaron with his Zanpakutō tightly gripped in his hand.
His anger was palpable, and the chaotic nature of his Reiatsu betrayed his lack of control.
Aaron, a veteran of countless battles, remained unfazed as he sensed the enemy's Reiatsu. From its intensity, he quickly deduced that the Shinigami's spiritual pressure was on par with his own.
Remaining calm, Aaron activated All-Knowing and All-Powerful to analyze the Shinigami's movements and predict his trajectory. Though he didn't fear his opponent, Aaron approached the situation with caution.
To him, even an enemy of equal strength deserved his full effort. Carelessness had no place in battle.
As the enraged Shinigami closed the distance in the blink of an eye, his Zanpakutō descended with full force.
Boom!
The clash resounded as Aaron deftly blocked the strike with his sealed Zanpakutō, meeting the attack with ease. The stranger's wild swing failed to unnerve Aaron, who observed his opponent with cold precision.
The Shinigami, glaring with unbridled hatred, snarled through gritted teeth. His expression conveyed his fury and desire for vengeance.
"Do you even know who I am? Do you realize who you've killed?" he growled, his voice dripping with malice.
"I don't know, and I don't care," Aaron replied with icy detachment. "Too many have fallen by my hand to keep count."
"Today, I'll use your blood to avenge my brother's death!" the stranger roared before charging at Aaron once more, his anger fueling his every move.
Aaron, unimpressed, sidestepped the Shinigami's attacks with calculated precision. From their brief exchange, he surmised the man's identity and purpose. His Reiatsu, though formidable, was a far cry from the strength of someone like Unohana.
Aaron inwardly sentenced the Shinigami to death. However, as this was his first battle against a Shinigami since his arrival in this world, he harbored a faint hope that his opponent might display some unexpected techniques.
After a few brief exchanges, disappointment began to creep in.
The Shinigami's swordsmanship was crude, his attacks predictable, and his strategies lacked finesse.
"This is the best Soul Society could muster?" Aaron thought, suppressing a sigh. It seemed the only reason his opponent had become a Shinigami was his passable Reiatsu.
Deciding he had no more time to waste, Aaron poured all his Reiatsu into his sealed Zanpakutō. He prepared to end the battle swiftly, slashing toward the Shinigami's vitals.
Just as the decisive strike was about to land, a sudden shout disrupted the flow of combat.
"Bakudō #8: Seki!"
The stranger's trembling voice invoked the Kidō, conjuring a glowing blue shield on his right arm. Aaron's blade struck the barrier, forcing the Shinigami back over ten meters.
Though pale and visibly drained, the Shinigami managed to survive the attack, relying on his last-minute Kidō.
Aaron smirked faintly. "Interesting," he muttered.
Still, he wasn't about to take any chances. Summoning all his Reiatsu, Aaron manipulated the surrounding Reishi, drawing it toward his feet. Within moments, the Reishi condensed under his control, amplifying his speed.
In a burst of Shunpo-like movement, Aaron appeared behind his opponent, his presence like a ghost's shadow.
The Shinigami, believing he had narrowly escaped death moments earlier, felt a brief surge of relief. But as he attempted to taunt Aaron, his words were cut short.
A swift shadow passed by, and his body froze.
He clutched his neck in desperation, blood spilling through his fingers as he collapsed to the ground, his eyes wide with disbelief.
"Ding! A loot box has been detected near the host. Would you like to open it?"
The system's prompt echoed in Aaron's mind. He turned to the Shinigami's lifeless body, his expression unreadable.
"Open it," he commanded, his tone as calm as ever.
