As the sword in Unohana's hand shattered into two pieces, the manic expression on her face froze completely.
In that instant, Unohana questioned if this was some sort of dream. Could it be real? She found it impossible to believe that her blade had been broken—cut cleanly by her opponent.
"Let's end this for today," Aaron said calmly, his gaze steady on the stunned Unohana.
"This… this can't be happening!" Unohana murmured, staring blankly at the broken fragments of her sword scattered across the ground.
"The quality of your sword wasn't the best—it's nothing more than a lucky coincidence," Aaron offered, attempting to obscure his true abilities with a dismissive explanation.
"Leave now. I don't strike down the unarmed."
The words stung. Deep within, Unohana, who had regarded this formidable young man as her prey, felt a searing humiliation.
This wasn't how it was supposed to go. The hunter had suddenly become the hunted.
"You're mocking me…" she whispered, her voice laced with suppressed rage.
"Unless you kill me here and now," she yelled with fervent intensity, "I won't let this end! I'll keep fighting! Come—let's revel in the joy of battle!"
The madness in her tone was unmistakable as she dashed toward Aaron once more, her fist poised to strike.
"Even without a sword, I can defeat you with my bare hands!" Unohana bellowed, unleashing her Reiatsu with unrestrained fervor.
Her fighting spirit was unyielding—unyielding and terrifying. Weaponless and wounded, she was still willing to fight until her very last breath.
To Unohana, the clash of steel, the taste of blood, and the thrill of combat were intoxicating. And Aaron, with his extraordinary skills, had become her obsession. For the first time in ages, someone could stand against her in battle, stirring a deep excitement within her.
Aaron sighed, dodging her frenzied attacks with ease. Thanks to his "All-Knowing and Almighty" ability, her every move unfolded before him like an open book.
"This is meaningless. You're strong, but this is madness," he remarked as he sidestepped her strikes.
"You're stronger than I anticipated. You're worthy of being my opponent!" Unohana exclaimed, her Reiatsu spiraling out of control as her attacks grew more erratic.
Though Unohana resembled a feral beast, driven purely by instinct and fury, Aaron was calm and collected. Focusing his Reiatsu, he poured all his energy into his blade.
With a sharp, precise swing, he aimed for her defense.
Unohana didn't flinch. Instead, she used her forearm to block the blow directly.
A metallic clang resonated through the battlefield as her arm absorbed the attack, leaving her unharmed but forcing her back several meters.
Aaron showed no surprise. He understood the fundamental truth of battles in the Soul Society: every clash was ultimately a contest of Reiatsu.
In the world of Shinigami, where every being was composed of spiritual energy, the density of Reiatsu dictated one's power.
While Aaron had refined his skills to a remarkable level, his Reiatsu still couldn't match the overwhelming spiritual pressure that Unohana wielded.
Even so, through a combination of his unparalleled mastery of kendo and the foresight granted by his "All-Knowing and Almighty" ability, he had managed to keep pace with her.
"It's clear we're at a stalemate. Let's end this," Aaron said, spreading his hands in a gesture of truce.
Unohana's eyes gleamed with something unfamiliar respect.
Despite her wild nature and thirst for combat, she had finally met someone who could challenge her in ways few could. In this young man, she saw a reflection of herself—a relentless warrior seeking strength through battle.
After a long silence, Unohana retracted her Reiatsu, the crazed energy dissipating as her expression returned to its usual calm.
"Had my sword not been broken, this would've ended differently," she said coldly.
With that, she turned to leave, her aura steady and composed. But just as she began to walk away, the sound of hurried footsteps filled the air, followed by the slow, deliberate rhythm of applause.
