Chapter 74: Chapter 74: Assassination by a Dou Grandmaster

Chapter 74: Assassination by a Dou Grandmaster

Mo Yu's gaze swept over the badges on the mercenaries opposite him, and he couldn't help but sneer, "The Wolf Head Mercenary Group? Are you here to die again?"

He had allowed Little Doctor Fairy to spare Mu Li's life earlier because he didn't see the Wolf Head Mercenary Group as a threat at all. Their leader was only a two-star Dou Master, and the rest were insignificant. Yet here they were, still trying to hunt him down, blinded by greed.

"So, you're Mo Yu? Hand over what you got from the cave, and I might spare your life!"

During their brief clash, Gan Mu had sensed that the young man before him wasn't as simple as he seemed. His initial intention to kill Mo Yu outright wavered, but the items from the cave were non-negotiable.

"That's me," Mo Yu replied, caressing the long spear in his hand, a playful tone in his voice. "If you want what I got from the cave, that's possible."

Gan Mu's eyes lit up, and he quickly said, "As long as you hand it over, I can recommend you to be the fourth vice leader of the Wolf Head Mercenary Group."

"Fourth vice leader? No need. If you can survive my spear, I'll give you my life," Mo Yu replied coldly.

"You little brat, how dare you mock me!"

Realizing he had been played by the boy in front of him, Gan Mu shouted angrily.

"So you've got some talent, huh? Kid, today I'll show you what your grandpa Gan can do!"

With that, Gan Mu squeezed his legs, and the unicorn horse beneath him understood his intent. With a loud neigh, man and horse charged straight at Mo Yu with great force.

As Gan Mu charged with immense momentum, Mo Yu's expression remained unchanged. He channeled his fighting spirit through specific pathways, then stomped hard on the ground.

"Instant Flash!"

In the blink of an eye, the boy vanished from everyone's sight. When he reappeared, a shadow had appeared above Gan Mu.

"Vice leader, watch out!" a mercenary below shouted.

Before Gan Mu could react, the shadow darted toward his horse's head. Mo Yu spun his body, kicking Gan Mu hard under the chin, sending him flying through the air before crashing heavily to the ground.

Thud! Blood spurted from Gan Mu's mouth as he struggled to get up. But before he could react, a foot pressed down on his chest.

Everything had happened in a flash.

Seeing their vice leader suddenly subdued by Mo Yu, the mercenaries stared in disbelief, as if they were witnessing something impossible.

"Ugh... Ugh..." Violent coughs mixed with blood sputtered from Gan Mu's mouth. He glared at the young man above him with a fierce expression.

"Kill him!"

At his command, several of his subordinates drew their weapons, their faces twisted with rage, and charged at Mo Yu.

At the same time, a light green fighting spirit surged from Gan Mu's body. His iron fists turned the color of dead wood as he clenched them tightly, then roared as he aimed a strike at Mo Yu's leg.

"Rapid Flash!"

At the command that echoed in Mo Yu's mind, white energy quickly enveloped his foot, and he stomped down hard on Gan Mu's chest, launching himself toward the mercenaries charging at him.

Thud!

The explosive energy from the Rapid Flash slammed into Gan Mu's chest, causing him to spit out more blood.

Shakily standing up, Gan Mu gripped his iron rod and gritted his teeth, charging at Mo Yu with determination.

In just two or three exchanges, Mo Yu easily took down the mercenaries, who were only five-star Fighters, before turning back to face Gan Mu, who was charging at him with a fierce green aura.

With his right hand holding the Divine Might Black Thunder Spear at an angle, Mo Yu took a moment to concentrate. Then, with a loud stomp, he shot forward like a bullet.

In the blink of an eye, he was right in front of Gan Mu. Tightening his grip on the spear, he brought it down with all his might.

The sharp force of the attack made Gan Mu's already pale face turn even paler. He quickly raised his iron rod, channeling all his fighting spirit into it as he met the attack head-on.

Clang! The sharp sound of metal clashing rang through the forest.

The immense force behind the spear caused Gan Mu's body to sink into the ground, his legs buried in the earth.

Crack...

The next moment, cracks began to appear on the iron rod in Gan Mu's hand, rapidly spreading until the weapon shattered with a crisp sound.

Seeing his weapon destroyed by Mo Yu's strength, a look of terror crossed Gan Mu's face, and he quickly retreated.

Thud! Mo Yu's spear continued downward, piercing Gan Mu's chest with fierce energy.

Splurt!

Gan Mu, already pale, turned even whiter as blood spurted from his mouth. His body tumbled across the ground, rolling several meters before coming to a stop, battered and broken.

"What a terrifying brat... Retreat!" Seeing how easily Mo Yu had defeated him with just one move, Gan Mu realized he had underestimated his opponent. This boy was likely a disciple of a powerful family in the empire, sent out for training.

Realizing this, Gan Mu lost all will to fight. His body twisted in an odd manner, and with a powerful push off the ground, he leaped onto his unicorn horse.

"Hya!"

Without even glancing at Mo Yu, Gan Mu urged his horse into a frantic gallop, fleeing as fast as he could.

Seeing this, a cold glint flashed in Mo Yu's eyes. He tightened his grip on the Divine Might Black Thunder Spear, then hurled it with all his might, sending it streaking like a black shadow toward Gan Mu.

Boom!

Sensing the terrifying force behind him, Gan Mu turned his head. Seeing the deadly spear tip racing toward him, his face turned pale with fear. He desperately urged his horse to go faster, but the spear was too quick.

Gan Mu tried to block the attack, but the spear suddenly accelerated, piercing his chest before he could react. His eyes bulged as his chest caved in, blood mixed with fragments of his internal organs spilling from his mouth.

His body was thrown from the horse, smashing through two or three trees before coming to a stop.

Gan Mu was dead.

Seeing this, Mo Yu shook his head. Even a nine-star Fighter dared to come after him; it was simply asking for death.

He approached Gan Mu's body, his eyes cold and indifferent. He placed his foot on Gan Mu's chest and slowly pulled the spear out, a gush of blood following.

Just as Mo Yu was about to put away his spear and leave, he suddenly felt a chill. His expression changed, and he quickly channeled his fighting spirit to his feet, leaping away from the spot.

Boom!

Moments after Mo Yu escaped, a giant black palm crashed down on where he had been standing, sending dust and debris flying as the powerful energy snapped nearby trees.

Seeing this, Mo Yu's expression turned serious.

The person who had attacked him was at least a Dou Grandmaster!
