Battle Through The Heavens : I Am The Thunder Emperor

Chapter 45: Chapter 45: Ya Fei’s Anger

Chapter 45: Ya Fei's Anger

While the Jia Lie family was enveloped in gloom, the Xiao family was a sea of joy. Mo Yu's reputation within the Xiao family soared along with the popularity of Thunderfire Beads.

The initial batch of 500 Thunderfire Beads had sold out quickly. After notifying the family to send another 500 sets of materials, Mo Yu continued to forge more beads, which were then delivered to the family. Meanwhile, Xiao Yan, disguised as a black-robed man, secretly delivered another batch of Coagulation Powder, further intensifying the joyful atmosphere.

"Haha, let's see how arrogant the Jia Lie family can be now! With the help of the old gentleman and Xiao Yu, our Xiao family is invincible," Xiao Zhan said, smiling as he held a small green bottle and a black bead.

"Yes, in just a few days, our marketplace's popularity has doubled compared to its peak. The profits from the sales of healing medicine and Thunderfire Beads in these few days are equivalent to two or three months of our previous income!" The usually steady Great Elder couldn't help but smile broadly at the substantial gains.

Xiao Zhan nodded in agreement, then turned to Xiao Yan, who looked bored sitting in a chair, and then to Mo Yu, the family's hero. "You, little rascal, can't you learn from Xiao Yu? Even if you don't achieve great things like him, at least stay home peacefully. Every time the old gentleman visits, you're nowhere to be found."

Xiao Yan rolled his eyes helplessly, and Mo Yu chuckled, "Uncle, if Xiao Yan didn't go out and about, how could he have met such a mysterious and powerful figure? Don't blame him."

Xiao Zhan laughed heartily, "True, Xiao Yu has a point. This time, the family was saved thanks to you. Your contributions will not be forgotten. Half of the profits from the Thunderfire Bead sales will be handed to you by your grandfather, Mo Guan."

Mo Yu nodded calmly. While it wasn't a huge sum, it amounted to around 100,000 gold coins, ensuring his grandfather could live comfortably even after he left.

After discussing some family matters, Xiao Yan left the meeting room out of boredom. A little later, Mo Yu also excused himself.

Back in his room, Mo Yu found his grandfather, Mo Guan, waiting for him happily. Seeing the old man's joy, Mo Yu felt that all his efforts to help the Xiao family had been worthwhile. He handed the gold coins to his grandfather for safekeeping.

After saying goodbye to his grandfather, Mo Yu was about to head to the back mountain for training when a charming voice called out from behind him.

"Master Mo Yu, long time no see."

At the doorway stood a mature woman in a red cheongsam, smiling. The tight-fitting dress accentuated her curvaceous figure, and her snake-like waist swayed enticingly as she walked. The slit in her dress reached up to her thigh, revealing glimpses of her fair skin, making it hard to look away.

"Ya Fei." Mo Yu raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "Are you here to discuss cooperation with the family?"

Mo Yu remembered that Yao Lao, often posing as Xiao Yan, frequently visited the auction house to sell Foundation Elixirs. Given the conflict between the Xiao and Jia Lie families, Xiao Yan likely negotiated with the Mittel family.

Ya Fei didn't expect Mo Yu to guess so quickly, so she nodded silently. Besides complying with Yao Lao's request to cooperate with the Xiao family, she had another reason for her visit.

Ya Fei had an excellent memory. She had once glimpsed the hands of a mysterious black-robed alchemist at the auction house, hands as fair and youthful as a boy's. With Mo Yu claiming to have been taught by an alchemist, she deduced that he had some connection to that mysterious figure. Considering the rarity of alchemists, she surmised that Mo Yu might indeed be the black-robed alchemist, with the weapons he sold at the auction being given to him by his 'master.'

Biting her red lip, Ya Fei glanced at Mo Yu. He wore a simple green shirt, his slender figure and handsome, serene face contrasting with his deep, unfathomable eyes. She found it hard to believe that the young genius before her was the same person who had teased her at the auction.

"Seen enough?" Mo Yu asked with a light smile, guessing her thoughts.

Slowing her steps, Ya Fei sighed softly, "Should I call you 'sir' or 'little brother Mo Yu'?"

"Figured it out, did you?" Mo Yu chuckled, rubbing his chin.

Ya Fei brushed a lock of hair from her face with a graceful motion that made the nearby Xiao family guards stare. She pursed her red lips and smiled wryly, "Yes, alchemists are rare. With a bit of thought, it wasn't hard to figure out. So, those weapons you brought to the auction were crafted by your master?"

Mo Yu didn't correct her misconception, nodding slightly, "My master dislikes meeting strangers, so it was indeed me who brought the items to the auction."

Relieved, Ya Fei's face took on a slightly resentful expression, "If that's the case, why did you… why did you tease me like that?"

For once, the usually composed Ya Fei blushed. Mo Yu understood her meaning. Back then, facing a character as charming as Ya Fei, he couldn't help but flirt a bit.

Shaking his head, Mo Yu apologized, "I'm sorry. I'll visit you to apologize properly sometime."

With that, Mo Yu turned and left. Unlike Xiao Yan, his identity wasn't sensitive. Exposing it wasn't a big deal.

Watching Mo Yu's departing figure, Ya Fei felt a mix of emotions. She bit her lip in frustration, muttering, "This little rascal, he already has a fiancée and yet he asked me to marry him!"
