Batman’s Son in Marvel

Chapter 8: Chapter 8: No Way to Heaven, No Way to Earth

"Damn it! He runs fast!"

Adam Wayne punched his pillow in frustration, his face dark with irritation.

He had been the one speaking to Joker earlier through the drone.

As a devoted Batman fan, how could he possibly miss the chance to watch his "dad" go head-to-head with his greatest nemesis?

After managing to send Alfred away, Adam had snuck back into his room and pulled out his tablet to monitor the situation inside Joker's lab.

To ensure Joker wouldn't escape, he'd even deployed a specialized drone squad provided by Fox.

Though Fox wasn't famous outside Gotham, as Wayne Enterprises' chief technical officer, he had access to a treasure trove of cutting-edge technology.

Batman's armor was just the tip of the iceberg.

The drones Adam had sent were part of the Bat-series, designed for speed and durability. Their combat performance was comparable to elite tactical units.

The specific model Adam deployed was enhanced for speed and resilience.

His original plan had been simple—distract Joker with conversation and then capture him with the drones.

But Joker proved far more cunning than expected.

Sensing something was off, he'd slipped away into the sewers before Adam could close the trap.

"As expected of Joker."

Adam smirked.

"But escaping my surveillance? That's wishful thinking."

His fingers danced across the controls.

"Skynet, bring up Gotham's drainage system map."

"Yes, Master."

A holographic projection appeared, filling most of the room.

Adam examined the vast network of tunnels and drainage routes, stroking his chin thoughtfully.

"Skynet, simulate Joker's possible escape routes."

Artificial intelligence wasn't just for tracking—it could predict behavior based on patterns and data.

By analyzing Joker's psychological profile and behavioral tendencies, Skynet generated likely escape routes.

A few seconds later, several red lines lit up in the hologram, marking potential paths.

"Master, based on current data, there's an 80% probability that Joker will appear in Gotham's underground kingdom."

Adam's eyes narrowed.

Gotham was a massive port city prone to heavy rainfall. Its drainage system was one of the most extensive in the world.

The underground network stretched endlessly, hollowing out the entire city and forming a complex sewer system.

Over time, criminals driven out of the streets had claimed this space, turning it into a refuge.

The underground kingdom was born—a sprawling haven of lawlessness filled with black markets, gangs, and desperate fugitives.

If Joker wanted to hide, there was no better place.

Adam grinned at the holographic map.

True, there were no surveillance cameras underground.

But there were electronic devices—phones, tablets, and even laptops brought in by residents.

Illegal goods sold in the black markets often required modern tech, and those devices were now Skynet's spies.

An ordinary smartphone could double as a camera, microphone, and location tracker.

Unless Joker fled to the mountains, completely off the grid, there was no escaping Skynet.

"Skynet, monitor all devices in the underground kingdom and track Joker's movements."

"Yes, Master."

Skynet fell silent as it carried out the order.

Adam leaned back, confident in his AI's capabilities.

Ten minutes later, Skynet's voice returned.

"Master, target located. Joker entered the underground kingdom through Entrance No. 214."

The projection changed, showing a figure in a white mask.

"Master, Joker is disguised."

Skynet displayed a side-by-side comparison of Joker's features before and after the disguise.

Adam studied the image closely. Without the AI's analysis, even he would've been fooled.

"As expected of Joker. So cunning."

Joker wasn't just a master of chemistry—his talent for disguise was also exceptional.

But Adam grinned.

"No matter how good your disguise is, it's useless against AI."

Artificial intelligence could analyze micro-expressions, body language, and movement patterns.

While Joker's makeup and mask were convincing, he couldn't erase his subconscious habits—tiny gestures and quirks that gave him away.

Adam's eyes gleamed.

"Skynet, deploy the drone squad. Surround him."

The drones were equipped with automatic rifles and grenades. They weren't just for surveillance—they were weapons of war.

Adam wasn't as lenient as Batman.

While Bruce Wayne insisted on preserving his moral code, Adam had no intention of letting Joker escape alive.

For someone like Joker, there was only one outcome—death.

Ten minutes later, under Skynet's guidance, the drones reached the underground kingdom.

In silent mode, they surrounded Joker without alerting him.

Meanwhile, Joker remained oblivious, lost in his thoughts as he strolled through the dimly lit tunnels.

When the drones completed their formation, Adam's voice rang out through one of the units.

"Mr. Joker."

Joker spun around, guns drawn, and fired at the sound.

The bullets sparked against the tunnel walls, hitting nothing.

Adam let out a sigh of relief.

"Good thing I didn't come in person," he muttered.

Even with Bruce Wayne's combat skills, Joker's reflexes were deadly.

Calming himself, Adam spoke through the drone again.

"Mr. Joker, I think you should calm down."

As he spoke, several more drones emerged from the shadows, their weapons trained on Joker.

The automated rifles and grenade launchers glinted menacingly.

Even Joker hesitated.

He prided himself on being unpredictable, but this situation was unlike anything he'd faced before.

Joker lowered his guns slightly, his manic grin faltering for the first time.

Adam smirked as he watched the scene unfold.

Joker was out of options—trapped with no way to heaven and no way to earth.
