Avatar: Tower Master

I apologize in advance; I currently have a migraine, and this will most likely be the only chapter released today. Thank you for your understanding.

Standing near the tower entrance I held the gift I had made for Zuko, chuckling to myself at what I did I brought my head around to see Zuko and Iroh making their way towards me. Today Zuko not only had his helmet on but his dual swords as well. 

"Welcome to the tower" I called out. 

Arriving in front of my Iroh elbowed Zuko and they both bowed saying "Thank you tower master" 

"Zuko," I said.

Looking up I saw a confused look on his face "Yes, Tower Master"

"As I said previously I have taken interest in you but that comes at a cost, if you do not live up to my expectations I will pull back any support" I said watching him gulp "That being said if you impress me today I have a gift for you that will make your search for the avatar a lot easier" 

Perking up at that Zuko asked "What do I need to do" 

"I will show you, bu first step inside the tower please" 

Walking through the tower entrance I chuckled at Iroh and Zuko's surprised expressions when seeing the floor but I quickly pulled up their status as they read the intro notification.

Zuko's stats were quite good for someone who hasn't used the tower. Especially since he was only fourteen or fifteen at the time, no doubt due to Iroh's training. Though it was Iroh's status that really surprised me.

"Holy shit" I whispered. I had never seen someone with a ten inf firebending, not to mention his stats are insane in the spiritual department. What really got me was that he actually had an ability on his status just entering the tower. Feeling gazes on me I turned to see Iroh and Zuko both looking at me waiting.

"Sorry about that just thinking of a few things" I started then looked directly at Zuko "I said that you would show you what you need to do but it's more like showing". Sending the quest that I had crafted for him.

[You have been sent a unique quest set by the Tower Master. To complete this quest you must only use your swords while in the tower]

[Rewards: 20 XP] [First time reward: Magic item] 

"What is this?" Zuko asked, confused. 

"It is a quest, basically it is a task that if you choose to do it will grant experience and rewards equal to its difficulty. This one specifically allows you to do it day after day getting twenty experience per time completed" 

"So you don't want me to use firebending?" Zuko asked, confused. 

Before I could respond Iroh said "I did not hear anything about not using firebending, only that you must use your swords" 

Wishing he hadn't said that I just signed "Always helpful Iroh I was hoping for him to figure it out himself" 

"My apologies Tower master" Iroh said. 

"Now let's get to it" I said, gesturing for them to follow. 

I led them further into the floor specifically to where I knew horned rapids were abundant. 

"Now those are monsters" I said gesturing to the rabbit "Once you defeat them you will gain experience" 

Marching over to the rabbits, Zuko was about to just punch out some fire when Iroh coughed making him look back and see Iroh gesturing to his waist. Taking a step back Zuko pulled out his duel swords and approached the rabbits. One by one he cut the monsters down, eventually clearing out the area. 

"Not going to join in Iroh?" I asked. 

"Not today for now I would like to keep an eye on my nephew" he replied. 

"You truly are like a father to him" I saw, making Iroh surprised at my comment. 

"I try my best" 

Once Zuko arrived back next to us I said "Despite never being here you may be a bit strong for this floor, why don't we move on to the next" 

"Fine," Zuko said. 

Leading him over to the boss monster I gestured for him to start fighting. To my surprise Zuko didn't just use his swords; instead he stood there in focus as the large slim approached. Then with one quick movement launched two flames from his sword destroying the monster in one go. 

Clapping I called 'Well done Zuko" 

"Thanks," he replied reluctantly. 

"Now onto the next floor" 

I spent the rest of the day talking with Iroh and watching Zuko defeat various monsters. By the end of the day he had made it to the fifth floor and was ready to receive his class. Strangely despite the year and a half of the tower being open he was the first to do so in just a day. Most new climbers took some time to get used to the tower.

"Congrats Zuko you are the first person to reach the required level for a class on their first day. Most people take a day or two to get used to the tower" I commented "Follow me" 

Leading both Iroh and Zuko over to the class stone I gestured to it. 

"What do I do?" Zuko asked. 

"Just put your hand to the stone" I instructed. 

Watching as he pressed his hand to the stone I pulled up the participant's view and quickly added my change to it.

Heat resistance: This ability allows you to stand more intense heat making your body harder to burn.

Heat sense: This ability allows you to feel the heat around you even the heat of the people near you for a time. 

Intense flames: This ability increases the intensity of your flames allowing you to do increased damage. 

Flaming sword: Wrap your weapon in a blanket of flames allowing you to passively deal damage when using them even cauterizing wounds. 

Quick step: use your element (fire) to add a quick burst of speed to either approach an enemy or retreat. 

"It says that class selection is unavailable," Zuko complained. 

"Yes, as a firebender your powers come from the world itself, I can't interfere with them directly, instead it compensates with more free points to assign wherever you wish" I explained "choose your ability quickly, it looks like Iroh is quite tired" 

Covering his mouth Iroh yawned out "I am fine" 

I waited for Zuko to choose his ability and assign his free points before I pulled back up his status.

Seeing his status, I stepped forward saying "As much as I admire your choice to even out your stats you will want to choose some to specialize in" 

"Why?" Zuko asked. 

"To put it simply, classes, a class usually has one or two stats that it focuses someone's growth in if you even out like you just did it will work for a while but eventually you will fall behind people stat wise" 

"I understand," Zuko said with a thinking face. 

"Now as I said at the beginning of the day if you impressed me you would get a gift, and you have impressed me" I said as I pulled out a palm size thick black box and handed it to Zuko. 

"What is it?" he asked. 

"It is something that will lead you to what you want most" I said pausing "In this world" 

Opening it up, Zuko asked "A compass?"
