Chapter 81: Taking All The Treasure For Oneself!
The passionate ramblings of the Trial Takers ensued. But with eight people yet to get what they deserved, the Six-Winged Seraphim's Eye ceaselessly called out names.
However, even as Duke Softshore's twin daughters, Lenon, Nala, Princess Maya, and the others received their rewards, their minds were elsewhere. To be precise, they were distracted by the thought of sighting the one ranked first on the leaderboard.
After Lucidador got a Diamond-rank Trove—same as Nala—all eyes fell on the still large number of Treasure Troves floating behind the Six-Winged Seraphim's Eye. They numbered over a hundred, which made no sense considering that there was only one remaining person who hadn't received his reward.
That was unless…
"Is CallMeDaddy going to get all of that!?" someone asked what they were all thinking, his voice bringing to everyone's attention the robotic voice of the Eye.

*Fwooop—!*
A wave of multicolored Treasure Chests swarmed toward the location of a singular man. Someone who wore a cloak and had activated so many Camouflage Martial Skills that not even Nala or Lucidador could see through his identity.
"That's the one who amassed over a trillion points!?"
"This is absurd! Who is this guy!??"
"Is he not from the Elemental Nations?? Why have I never seen him before???"
Overlooking the pointless quibbling of the weaker geniuses, the eyes of Lucidador and Princess Maya narrowed. Almost everyone was staring at Knox, seemingly attempting to discern anything they could about him.
"There's no point in trying to glean what you'll never be able to see," Knox spoke with a hacker's voice, with only the lower half of his face visible out of his hood. "Just keep to yourselves and let us go our own ways."
Lucidador's thick brows deeply furrowed. "Is that a threat?"
Knox shook his head. "I'm simply advising a few young brats on what battles shouldn't be chosen. Trust me, boy, I'm not that guy."
In spite of the growing tension between Lucidador and Knox, neither of them was the first to make a move. Instead, it was Nala—the elder sister of the Star-Gazer Child—a fierce woman ranked #15 among the Children of the Water Deity.
Though, like many of the surviving Trial Takers, Nala had become much stronger since entering the Devilstar Secret Realm. So much so that even the Children ranked 11 through 14 were no longer her match.
'An inch away from the Soul Formation Realm,' Knox appraised with System Sight while pocketing the river of Treasure Troves for later. 'Once this Trial concludes, she and that other dude will most likely successfully break through the Soul Formation Realm. It could become troublesome then…'
A dangerous thought lingered in his mind:
'Should I just kill them now and be done with it? If I let them grow any more, they might be capable of offing me for good. An eventuality which I don't want one bit.'
However, as good as killing them sounded on paper, Knox knew he couldn't. Even when Nala's blade cut toward his throat at unbelievable speeds, he didn't perform a fatal blow on her.
BOOM!
A figure went flying backward, but it wasn't Knox.
"I'm being lenient for now," he uttered coldly, blink-stepping behind the cannonballing woman. He caught her by her armor, his fingers digging into the enchanted metal. "But if you try something like that again—" he whispered next to her ear, "—I'll kill you and forgo my caution."
"!!!"
Nala tried breaking free from Knox's grasp, but he was simply too physically strong. It was to a level where, if she didn't know any better, she'd assume he was in the Soul Formation Realm.
"A Soul Formation Realm Cultivator!?" she questioned aloud. "But how could that possibly be…?? You have no aura and weren't among us upon entering the Secret Realm!"
Knox smirked before letting go of Nala. She immediately went into an aggressive stance, but he didn't care.
"You're wrong about something," he remarked. "I'm not in the Soul Formation Realm. In fact, I'm far from it."
"But your physical strength…."
"What can I say?" Knox laughed. "Some of us are just molded to perfection by God! But don't worry, I can help mold two 'somethings' of yours to perfection; just say the word!"
Nala's anger surged; she deliberated her choices here. It was obvious that this unknown hooded man was extremely skillful, but for some reason, she felt as if his cultivation wasn't too high. She hadn't realized it previously, but his cultivation base was very crude—taking on the markings of a lesser Cultivator.
'But that doesn't make any sense,' she thought. 'How could someone with such a low cultivation possibly be my match in base form?? Should I unleash what I've been hiding all this time so as to force out his secrets…?'
After a brief pause, Nala shook her head. 'No, not yet. There are still two more Trials, meaning that I can't waste it here.'
Coldly snorting, she turned around and walked away. Her plump butt swayed mesmerizingly, giving Knox quite the alluring show. He whistled slyly, causing veins to bulge on her forehead.
"Heh, a shy hottie, ey?" Knox remarked, his words unknowingly sending ripples throughout the bodies of the Trial Takers.
Everyone present—except for one uncaring man—knew of the infamous reputation possessed by the Water Deity Child known as the Light's Last Sight-Child. A Title that she earned as a direct result of her being born in a ray of light that extended to the Heavens. Over time, though, the Title found itself a new meaning, for those who crossed her wound up with one singular fate—a one-way ticket straight to the lights of the Great Beyond.
It was because of this scary reputation of hers that everyone was so shocked to see her merely tense up in response to Knox's remarks. She made no further moves, her focus being on the continuation of the Trials.
"What a cutie patootie," Knox commented loud enough for all others to hear. "If only I knew of some way to turn that smile upside down. Hmm… A personal full-body massage perhaps?"
*Tick!*
