This entire time, Knox had been desperately searching for a fitting Core Formation Cultivation Technique.

'One suitable for a Cripple who's trying to get back on his legs,' he thought. 'You get it? Back on his legs—because a cripple can't walk!'

"Ha! Anyway," he said aloud, looking between the dozen-plus Beast Emperors that had him surrounded. "The cultivation technique I've been attempting to find turned out to be right under my nose. Possessed by the big booty Momma Sita right over there!"

Pointing at an Egyptian-like woman standing next to the Cobra Empress, Knox burst out laughing.

"What was your name again? The Torrential Empress or something?? Well, whatever your name is, you have something that I want. Hand it over now, and I might just consider sparing your life and have you serve as my maid-servant!"

"Wait…" he paused dramatically. "How good is your foot-rubbing technique? Because for me, that's a very crucial aspect when deciding who are best fit to be my maid-servants—"

SHING!

"Woah now, beautiful," Knox said, blurring through a sand elemental attack aimed to cut off his head. "I know how much you probably want this face all to yourself, but violence is not the right way to go about getting what you want!"

"This human is just as annoying as you told me he was," said the Torrential Empress, calming the active Sand Elements swirling around her yellow staff-sword. "His cultivation is also really only at the Half-step Core Formation Realm. It makes me wonder why you called us all together to take care of him. Couldn't you have just done it yourself?"

"I would've if I could," Cobra Empress replied, throwing venomous glares at Knox. "But this audacious worm is extremely good at slipping away. It was with this ability of his that he kidnapped my precious daughter—of whom he has yet to show me since the kidnapping!"

"Jeez, lady," Knox said, waving his hand dismissively. "You're acting like you're mother of the year or something. That poor girl was kept in a damn basement her entire life, for God's sake!"

Cobra Empress's aura violently flared, but she restrained herself from moving too hastily. They were, after all, floating over the territory of one of the most terrifying entities in Pandora—

The World Serpent.

More specifically, above the World Serpent's head.

"What do you know??" Cobra Empress spat back, controlling her temper. "You're just a measly human! In fact, instead of requesting something from us, you should be groveling on the ground, begging that we spare your worthless life!"

Knox's expression suddenly turned very dark.

"Request?" he repeated. "My dear, I wasn't requesting anything. And unless you tell that friend of yours to hand over what I want, I'll have to strip it from her by force. By then, I might accidentally strip more than just the Technique Manual."

"You'd dare!?"

The Torrential Empress's anger flared. But upon noticing a slight rustling come from the giant moss-covered landmass below, she bit her lip and restrained herself.

"Pssh!" Knox sneered. "Do I dare!? I dare to do a whole lot more than just that! Like that big guy down below, for example—you lot are scared of him, aren't ya?"

"!!!" "!!!" "!!!"

"Don't you dare—!!"

"Oh, I dare, alright!" Knox said laughingly. "I told you as much already, haven't I!?"

OOOOM!!

"I FUCKING DARE!!!"

RUMBLE!!

The giant moss-covered landmass below was suddenly hit by one of Knox's full-powered attacks—an attack capable of slaying Beast Emperors—the same attack that vanquished the Gator Emperor not too long ago.

Yet…

"No damage," Knox laughed self-deprecatingly while watching the moss-covered landmass stretch into the skies. "Well, just one look at your System Interface is enough to tell me that an all-out strike of mine registers as little more than a bug bite for you."

'The Legion, huh?' Knox mused to himself while nonchalantly dodging another Sand Element sword arc.

"What a weasel!" shouted the Torrential Empress.

Though, within mere moments, her anger quickly turned into fear. The eyes of the Devil had locked onto her, making her feel as if even her very soul could be extracted from her on a whim.

"T-The World Serpent…" one of the Beast Emperors quivered in sheer terror as he pointed his trembling finger at the massive pair of primordial slitted eyes staring down at all of them.

"Oh?"

Slowly turning his head around, Knox saw something that would likely be engraved into his memories for the rest of his life. A colossal head the size of multiple planets, with a pair of world-sized eyes seizing control over his ability to entertain resistance.

One second of staring at that behemoth was enough for Knox to understand just how truly insignificant he actually was. It was unlike when he first encountered the Seven-headed Basilisk or the Cobra Empress; this was a difference in power that exceeded all reason.

Let alone a flick—even a thought would be more than sufficient to permanently erase him…

It was this feeling, this sort of insurmountable strength, that led to Knox's following series of actions:

"Big Master World Serpent!" he shouted at the top of his lungs while kneeling on thin air. "Please accept ten bows from this lowly one! I kneel only for my parents, but for you, I've made a terribly difficult decision! I just hope… I just hope that you can find it in your large heart to accept this trash as a disciple…!"
