Chapter 2:
Chapter 2: The Grievances of the Past, Son of Destiny Su Jing:
Hong Yuan leaned gently against Song Yu, confusion clear in her voice: “Master, though this Su Jing was famous once, he’s nothing compared to our Song clan. Why do you take him so seriously?”
The Su family once had its moments of glory.
Su Mubian, the head of the family, even served as the Chancellor of the Imperial Academy. But compared to the Song Clan, they were insignificant. The Su family’s downfall came with the witchcraft case, a storm that the Song clan itself had stirred, though they weren’t directly targeting the Su family. The Su family simply got caught in the crossfire, a minor casualty in a much larger scheme.
But six months ago, Song Yu suddenly took an interest in Su Jing’s whereabouts. He even used the extensive resources of the Song clan to track him down. Hong Yuan couldn’t understand why her master was so determined to find this seemingly insignificant man.
Song Yu smiled faintly, his eyes clouded with a hint of darkness.
Without offering a full explanation, he merely said, “This man isn’t as simple as he seems. He’s not to be underestimated.”
In truth, Song Yu wasn’t from this world at all—his soul was from another planet. He was a transmigrator, and being familiar with countless novels from his previous life, he realized that he became the typical villain, while Su Jing was clearly the Son of Destiny.
That’s why Song Yu, despite his immense power, was so focused on eliminating Su Jing. He understood that cutting off Su Jing’s path was the only way to secure his own future.
Besides, Song Yu had his own advantage—the Villain System.
A panel invisible to others appeared before him:
…
Host: Song Yu
Identity: Son of the Prime Minister, heir to the Song Clan
Cultivation: 7th Stage Qi Sea Realm
Physique: Immortal Root and Dao Bone
Cultivation Technique: Basic Profound Life Technique
Weapon: Sword of Pure Jun
Villain Level: 1
Villain Value: 0
Current Mission: Eliminate the threat of the Son of Fortune, Su Jing (Progress: 10%)
…
Song Yu had spent time understanding the mystery behind this villain system. It was simple: every time he defeated a Son of Destiny, his villain level would increase, and he would earn Villain Points. For every 100 villain points, he could unlock Talent Points, which could be spent on improving his cultivation speed, supernatural abilities, and more.
With this system, Song Yu wasn’t overly worried. Su Jing might be the Son of Destiny, but Song Yu had his own destiny to forge.
Meanwhile, at the foot of Transcendent Mountain, a group of priests gathered. Leading them was an elder, an old Taoist priest with an ageless appearance. His face was youthful, and his skin looked as soft as a child’s. Occasionally, a glint of light would flash through his eyes, making others tremble in awe.
Many wandering cultivators muttered in awe: “It’s Zhou Zhenren himself!”
Zhou Zhenren was the third elder of the Supreme Purity Sect, having reached Half Step Heavenly Realm eight years ago. He was a master known across the cultivation world. Many believed that it wouldn’t be long before he became the 5th stage Heavenly Realm.
To these wandering cultivators, Zhou Zhenren was akin to a deity. Meeting him was like encountering an immortal. It was surprising to see him come out in person to greet a noble from the Song dynasty.
Song Yu stepped down from his black jade chariot, his face warm and polite, showing no sign of arrogance despite his high status.
“My apologies for disturbing the peace of the Supreme Purity Sect,” Song Yu said humbly.
Zhou Zhenren, who was known for his stern demeanor, smiled and replied, “Not at all, Young Master Song. You are an honored guest here.”
The two exchanged pleasantries as they began their journey up the mountain.
On the mountainside of the Supreme Purity Sect, bamboo stretched out in every direction, forming a sea of green. As the wind blew through, the bamboo swayed, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere. Hidden among the bamboo were Taoist temples, where priests meditated on stone slabs, taking in the natural beauty of their surroundings.
As they passed through various courtyards, the Taoist priests bowed respectfully to Zhou Zhenren and then glanced at Song Yu with mixed feelings.
They all knew why Song Yu had come: the Nectar of the Gods, a treasure of the Supreme Purity Sect, a rare elixir that took 30 years to form. It could cleanse one’s bones and marrow, offering the chance for rebirth. This nectar had been meant for the winner of the Thousand Peaks Competition, an internal event for the Supreme Purity Sect disciples, but now it had been claimed by an outsider.
Song Yu noticed the looks from the disciples but only smiled faintly. There was a hint of mockery in his eyes. While the nectar was indeed a rare treasure, Song Yu, being the heir to the Song clan, had access to treasures of equal or greater value.
In truth, his journey to the Supreme Purity Sect wasn’t for the nectar at all—it was merely a pretext. His true goal lay elsewhere. His real purpose wasn’t even Su Jing; discovering Su Jing’s whereabouts was simply a pleasant coincidence.
No, Song Yu was here for a woman, one who could change the course of the world—**Princess Yushu**, the last surviving heir of the fallen royal family.
At the Supreme Purity Sect’s back mountain, there was a towering cliff known as Azure Heights, reaching into the heavens. Covered in moss after centuries of weathering, it was said to be the very place where the founder of the Supreme Purity Sect, Zhi Qingzi, attained enlightenment over 2000 years ago.
Now, outside the Azure Heights Immortal Cave, two Taoist priests talked quietly.
“Senior Brother Su has been in secluded training for two months now,” one said. “He still hasn’t emerged from the illusion trial. His talent is truly extraordinary.”
“Indeed,” the other agreed. “Even the Head Teacher has taken notice. Little Lotus Peak is finally gaining some recognition.”
“But with the nobles from the capital arriving, all the true disciples must come to greet them. Senior Brother Su will have to pause his training for now.”
As they spoke, the mist surrounding the Immortal Cave shifted. A young man emerged, dressed in a simple green robe. His face was handsome, his aura deep, with faint traces of the Qi Sea Realm visible in his eyes. His presence was not intimidating but instead carried an air of calm that drew people in.
This was Su Jing, the true disciple of the Supreme Purity Sect and the chief of Little Lotus Peak.
The two Taoists quickly bowed. “Senior Brother Su, the elders have sent us to wake you. All true disciples are required to attend the welcome ceremony for the distinguished guests.”
Su Jing, though interrupted from his training, remained composed. He nodded and replied, “Understood.”
With that, a sword flew from his sleeve. He stepped onto the sword and soared into the sky, disappearing into a streak of light.
The two Taoists watched in awe. “Sword flight,” one whispered. “It seems Senior Brother Su has mastered the 5th volume of the Transcendent Sword Manual. I wonder when we’ll reach that level…”
