As The Only Mutant in Marvel

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Harry’s Proposal! Acute Eyes and Strange Power!

On this day, Harry found Lance with a share transfer letter.

"Come on, sign here, and then the 0.5% of the shares will be yours."

Harry handed the transfer letter to Lance and said.

Lance barely glanced at it before signing his name.

"By the way, the FBI has been monitoring me recently. They suspect I have something to do with the deaths of those old guys. To make sure they don't suspect you, I want you to hang up a job in the group," Harry said.

"In this way, I can say that I asked you to help me. After all, they know we're friends. Although I can barely hold my ground in the company right now, some of the old guys still don't accept me."

"At that time, you can pretend to be the assistant I hired. That way, it'll explain why I gave you the shares."

Lance had to admit the excuse was a bit far-fetched, but it wasn't completely unbelievable.

"That's fine, but let me make this clear—I'm not clocking in for work," Lance said, thinking it over before agreeing.

Punching in for an office job wasn't his style.

"Don't worry. I'll arrange a vice president position for you. You won't have to show up, just use your name, and you'll still get a salary."

Harry smiled.

"This works for me."

Lance grinned. Getting paid for doing nothing? Who would say no to that?

"Sir, the target is leaving Paradise Tower."

"Yeah, we're not sure what he was doing in there, but he probably met with a friend."

"Alright, we'll keep following him."

Across the road from Paradise Building, an FBI agent reported to his superior while sitting in a black SUV.

Because of Paradise Building's strict security, even the FBI wasn't allowed in without special authorization.

That meant once Harry went inside, they had to wait for him to come out.

All they could do was keep watching.

They'd been tailing Harry Osborn for several days now.

But so far, nothing useful had come up.

At this rate, the higher-ups would probably order them to close the case soon.

After all, those dead shareholders didn't hold much sway anymore, and the Osborn Group had no space for them.

The military's involvement added even more pressure to wrap things up quickly.

In a few more days, the agents would likely get some time off.

Eventually, Harry's car pulled out of the parking garage.

The FBI agents immediately followed, their black SUVs blending into traffic.

Meanwhile, on the 66th floor of Paradise Building, Lance stood by the edge of an open-air pool, watching the vehicles below.

Even at this distance, Lance's vision wasn't affected in the slightest.

He could clearly see the faces of the agents inside the cars.

"Not from S.H.I.E.L.D.,"

Lance muttered.

Harry had mentioned being monitored by the FBI, but Lance had wondered if they were actually S.H.I.E.L.D. agents in disguise.

Now it seemed like they were legitimate FBI.

What Lance didn't know was that S.H.I.E.L.D. had initially been interested in the case.

After their investigation ruled out any involvement from Inhumans or other enhanced individuals, they'd passed the case down to the FBI.

That's why only the FBI was tailing Harry now.

Over the past five days, Lance had signed in five more times.

He gained three Ipsilon-level abilities and two Delta-level ones.

He dismantled the three Ipsilon-level abilities without hesitation, converting them into teleportation proficiency.

Now, his teleportation ability was nearing level three.

One or two more Ipsilon-level abilities would probably push it over the edge.

The two Delta-level abilities, however, Lance decided to keep.

One of them was the vision-enhancing ability he'd used to observe the FBI agents.

It was originally called farsightedness, but Lance preferred the name Acute Eyes.

The base ability tripled the user's distance vision, but after Lance attached it to his sunglasses, it was enhanced five times.

With the system's strengthening, Lance's vision was now fifteen times better than normal.

Not only could he see farther, but he could also zoom in on distant objects at will.

The ability worked perfectly.

The second ability was more straightforward—a physical enhancement.

It was also a Delta-class power, but its effect was basic.

It tripled the user's strength, nothing more.

Definitely no match for Captain America.

Lance gave this ability to a bull ant he kept in his ecological garden.

The little guy instantly became the most dominant ant in the colony.

And as a result, Lance received eight times the strengthening from the system.

His strength was now twenty-four times that of a normal human.

The boost in strength also brought an increase in physical durability.

Though secondary to his raw power, the improvements were enough to make his body capable of handling the strain.

The boost shouldn't be underestimated.

A threefold increase might not sound like much, but twenty-four times?

It made a huge difference.

The enhancement also turned Lance into a monster in close combat.

Even without teleportation, he could probably take down a squad of special forces soldiers on his own.

Of course, dodging bullets was still a priority.

He wasn't stupid.
