Chapter 15: Chapter 6: The Classes of Hogwarts
The beginning of Aurelius's first year at Hogwarts had been nothing short of extraordinary. His arrival had been marked by wonder and mystery, and he quickly adapted to life in the castle. Now, with the first task already behind him and a new challenge awaiting, Aurelius had fully immersed himself in his studies and interactions with classmates.

In Potions Class with Professor Snape
The first Potions class of the semester was always an intense affair, especially with Professor Snape at the helm. Students were already nervous enough, but Aurelius's entrance into the class caused a stir. His calm demeanor and confident stride were in stark contrast to the students' wide-eyed anxiety.
"Settle down," Snape commanded as he paced before the class, his black robes billowing behind him. His sharp eyes flicked over the room, stopping on Aurelius for a moment. "Solen, I trust you know the basics of potion-making. We don't tolerate mistakes here."
Aurelius gave a small, polite nod, already familiar with potion-brewing from his time in Kamar-Taj, where magical concoctions were often used in rituals. He had found that potion-making was a precise art, requiring concentration and a steady hand, qualities that came naturally to him.
As the class began to prepare the ingredients for the first potion, a calming draught, Aurelius turned his attention to the task at hand. His fingers moved deftly, adding ingredients with a careful but graceful touch. Hermione Granger, seated beside him, watched in awe.
"Where did you learn to do that?" she asked in a hushed voice, eyes wide.
"I've had some experience with potions," Aurelius replied with a smile, not wanting to give too much away. He could feel the subtle hum of cosmic energy within him as he worked, his connection to the magic guiding his every move.
Snape watched from the front of the class, his dark eyes narrowing slightly. He was impressed with Aurelius's technique but unwilling to show it. He glanced at the rest of the class and gave an almost imperceptible sneer. "You may be talented, Solen, but remember, perfection comes with discipline."
Meanwhile, Harry was having a different experience. Paired with Neville, who was already sweating bullets, Harry struggled to follow the exact instructions. When Neville's cauldron emitted a thick puff of green smoke, Snape stormed over.
"Longbottom," he said coldly, "is it your goal to poison us all?"
"N-no, sir," Neville stammered, his hands trembling.
Snape's glare shifted to Harry. "And you, Potter. Do you find it amusing to waste ingredients with such incompetence?"
Harry stiffened, his jaw tightening. "No, sir. We're trying."
"Trying," Snape sneered. "Clearly, that is not enough." He loomed over their cauldron, his tone dripping with disdain. "If you cannot manage even a simple calming draught, how do you expect to survive in this class?"
Aurelius, who had been silently observing, glanced at Harry and Neville. "Professor," he said evenly, "if I may assist them after finishing my potion?"
Snape turned to him, raising an eyebrow. "You believe yourself capable of multitasking, Solen?"
Aurelius met his gaze without flinching. "I do."
"Very well," Snape drawled. "But do not expect me to clean up their mess."
With a few quick instructions and a steady hand, Aurelius guided Harry and Neville back on track. By the end of the lesson, their potion wasn't perfect, but it was at least passable.
As the students cleaned up, Harry shot Aurelius a grateful look. "Thanks. I don't think Snape's going to make this easy for me."
Aurelius smiled. "He seems tough, but there's always something to learn from every teacher—even if they don't make it easy."

In Charms Class with Professor Flitwick
Charms was another class where Aurelius's natural aptitude for magic came into play. As soon as he entered the classroom, he felt the atmosphere shift. Professor Flitwick was bouncing around energetically, making small adjustments to the students' workstations. His enthusiasm was contagious, and Aurelius couldn't help but feel excited for the lesson.
"Welcome, welcome!" Flitwick cheered, his tiny frame practically vibrating with energy. "Today, we'll be practicing the Levitation Charm—Wingardium Leviosa! We'll see who can master it the fastest!"
Aurelius took his wand out with a flick of his wrist, his fingers instinctively grasping it in the right way. He had always found charm work fascinating; the delicate manipulation of energy to achieve specific effects was an art form in itself.
The class started, and students began to chant the incantation. Aurelius focused. The feather before him lifted easily, hovering in mid-air with almost no visible effort. He adjusted the movement of his magic, creating a delicate spin to keep the feather floating gracefully.
"Very good, Solen!" Professor Flitwick clapped his hands in approval. "That was impressive for your first attempt. Can anyone match that?"
Hermione quickly performed the charm with excellent precision. Aurelius exchanged a glance with her. "You're very talented," he said. "I think we'll make great partners in this class."

In Defense Against the Dark Arts with Professor Quirrell
Defense Against the Dark Arts was an entirely different experience. Professor Quirrell's nervous demeanor and stuttering voice created a tense atmosphere in the classroom. His lessons lacked the confidence and authority that other professors displayed, but Aurelius paid close attention nonetheless.
"W-welcome to Defense Against the D-Dark Arts," Quirrell began, his voice shaky as he addressed the students. "Today, w-we'll start with basic spells for protection... P-Protego."
Aurelius listened carefully, analyzing the spell. His experience in Kamar-Taj had taught him advanced defensive techniques, but he understood the value of learning these fundamental Hogwarts spells.
When it was time for the practical portion, Quirrell paired the students for practice. Aurelius found himself partnered with Harry.
Harry gripped his wand tightly, determined to succeed. "Ready?" he asked, his green eyes filled with focus.
Aurelius nodded, raising his wand. "Protego!" he called out. A shimmering barrier formed instantly, solid and unwavering.
Harry tried the same spell, and though his shield flickered into existence, it wasn't as stable as Aurelius's. "Not bad," Aurelius encouraged. "Just focus on your intent, Harry. The magic listens to your will."
From the corner of the room, Quirrell watched with a tense expression. The sight of Aurelius's powerful shield charm unsettled him for reasons he couldn't quite articulate.

In Transfiguration with Professor McGonagall
The final class of the day was Transfiguration, a subject that fascinated Aurelius. Professor McGonagall's stern demeanor commanded respect, and Aurelius admired her dedication to the art.
Today's lesson was on transforming matchsticks into needles. While many students struggled with the precise movements and concentration required, Aurelius completed the task on his first attempt.
"Impressive, Mr. Solen," McGonagall said, her sharp gaze fixed on him. "You have a remarkable aptitude for Transfiguration. But remember, there is always room for improvement."
Aurelius nodded, his mind already comparing the process to the magical transformations he had learned in Kamar-Taj. Although the principles were different, both required a deep understanding of the underlying magic.

Task Progress and Reward Notification
Later that evening, as Aurelius reflected on the day's lessons, the system notified him of progress toward his second task:
Objective Comparison of Magical Systems.
The notification read:
[System Update]
Comparison Logged: Basic Spells of Kamar-Taj vs. Hogwarts Magic.
Progress: 15% Completed.
"Interesting," Aurelius murmured. He felt a surge of determination to continue exploring both systems and uncover their full potential.
As he drifted off to sleep, the golden aura around him shimmered faintly, a reminder of the power he was beginning to unlock.
