Antrica: The Fallen World

Chapter 10: Survived

The summer sun blazed into Rials face from his window as he woke up from bed wanting to get ready for schooling. Fixing his clothes and dirty brown hair he realized it was late and ran downstairs and met his parents at the dinner table for breakfast.

"Rial your late come in here and sit down!" Rials mom Lucy yelled at him from the kitchen, her arms were out expecting a hug. She had the same hair as Rail but brown eyes to go along with the brown hair. Her dress made with the best fabric shone in the morning sun.

"Ok mom!" Rial goes running over to her to give a hug, but falling over while running. Clumsy when he was younger it always seemed like he did something every day. This time much harder and almost weirder. The fall felt wet like he fell into a pond or was cushioned by a bed. This caused him to get back up but instantly falling over again as everything around him is gone. The pool of blood is back above his ankles and the mana circle comes into vision.

Looking around he see's a black hole staring at him in his face. The mana shield about to burst from the pressure of it. Breathy heavy and punching it trying to escape he seems to be going faster and faster towards it. The acceleration disk stretches him out as space and time starts to revolve and twist around him. Finally the mana circle pops as he screams for help and cry's. Then all of a sudden he is in a cabin on a couch shirtless with bandages and ointment all over his body. Muscles weakened and breathing heavy he breaks down crying for his mom. Looking at his hands shaking furiously getting put around his head as he wraps into a ball.

"Mom please come back to me...Please...I miss you, I don't know how much longer I can go on. Can I join you if I die?" Failing at standing up he wipes his tears when he hears someone coming and acts like he is sleeping. "I just want to be alone." shivering he falls back into deep sleep, the journal back on his belt still shaking slightly.

"he was definitely awake wasn't he?" Maria looks at the floor to see wet spots from tears. While looking at Rial he is still crying and shaking while he is asleep. "That poor boy, A fairy without wings must have it so hard in this cruel world." Looking at him with a face of pity and sadness she looks at her husband. "get him another blanket, its getting cold inside. I'm checking on the girl." walking away to the next room.

"That journal, where did you get that?" Looking at the leather basing he knows it is not any normal journal. Hell it still seems full of mana considering its still shaking a day after being used. Someone overloaded it with enough to make it "vomit" mana back out. "I will have to ask Maria about the purple mana later." Thinking longer he put another blanket on Rial and went to check on the elf girl with his wife.

"She is still out of it. At least the bleeding stopped last night or she would be dead. How did that serious of a wound even happen? Were these kids sent out as soldiers or some twisted slave unit?" She nods as pink mana forms on the palm of her hands. The small pink ball seems to leak like waves as she puts it on Rylla's head.

"Now what do we do with them, I am in no means saying to turn in the elf but you know just how dangerous it is keeping one here Maria." Worried he puts his hand on her shoulder looking at the still injured elf. The healing magic can only do so much a day.

"Haland you know yourself if it was anyone else but me, she would be dead 6 hours ago. But your right, I don't know what to do because we cant just turn her in, You know the type of things that would happen to her. " The mana going into Rylla seemed to slowly disappear as she puts her hand down to her side confused. " Haland they just randomly appeared right outside out house, I don't know what to do." Sitting down she goes into thought.

"That boy, have you looked at his back yet? there are no signs wings were ever there Maria. I don't know if he was born like that but they will put him in the dungeon once they figure it out. Not to mention the mana leaking out of the journal." Peaking into the other room the journal is still leaking small amounts of mana shaking slightly on his belt. "lets let the rest right now honey, we can ask them questions later on." heading to the bedroom he puts down his sword on the table from his back.

"RYLLA STOP!" several hours late, jumping up Rial looks around to see he is still in the wooden house. The fireplace calming him down as he wiped his tears with his arm he stood up. Weirdly enough he feels refreshed like he had just gotten a mana recovery potion from earth. "This damn journal stop shaking." Rial talking to himself looks down at the journal still leaking the void mana. Head jolting with some lingering pain he remembered what happened, wishing to go somewhere the book used void magic to teleport them. The weird thing was from what he learnt the user has to choose where to go and had to of been there before for the spell to work. This was different it seems. Looking out of the window to see the shining moon he knew it was a terrible idea to escape out in the darkness. Still scared he had no clue where he was so looking for Rylla and getting out was the top priority. The once thought of cabin turned out to actually be a really nice wooden house. He was put to sleep on the couch in front of the fireplace in a sizeable living room with lots of bookshelf's and tools. With lots of rooms to look in his body was speeding up to make sure Rylla gets found.

"Hey your awake. Stop snooping around, if your looking for the elf girl she is fine." Haland walks up to him from behind with a smile on his face. He seemed to be a tall man with short black hair and brown eyes. He had a sword on his belt emitting some mana and he had the stature of a soldier.

"Stay back." Rial puts his hands on the journal and acts like he knows what he is doing hoping it tricks the big man in front of him. Back on earth academy students did not start learning magic till there 18 so casting even the basic spell would prove to be difficult. Although looking at the journal made him feel more confident, it was also scary for him clinging to something unknown.

"interesting, I have never heard that language before." Looking at Rial with a very confused face he points at a room and opens the door, hoping to lead Rial into it. He was not budging though, the small boy continued to put more trust into that journal than he would ever into him. So he backed off into the room knowing there was nothing he could do to convince the boy. His eye's were full of sadness, regret, and loneliness. Hell he cant even communicate with him properly.

"AHHHHH" A loud scream is heard from the room that Rial recognizes. Rylla. He runs in the room to discover another person who is putting something on her wounds with the man from before standing beside her. Rials eyes filled with tears looking at Rylla. She was ok.

"sorry I know it hurts little one just stay with me." Looking concentrated she continued to wrap bandages on Rylla's neck wounds.

The man looks at Rial and points to a chair. He still doesn't trust him but he can trust the journal if anything else happens.
