Antihero In the Hero Academy: I Can Connect the Past Heroes

Chapter 13: Even More!

Atlas slowly approached the Goblin Shaman's throne and opened his palm, sending all the gold he found on the floor and around the throne into his inventory. In just half a minute, over five thousand gold pieces had entered his inventory.

However, right in front of the throne, the box that had been used as a stand was left standing.

Atlas smiled and then said, "Finally."

After this word, he slowly bent down and picked up the box on the floor. When he put the box on the throne, he opened the lid of the box and found a book with a torn binding in front of him.

The book behind the torn binding clearly said "Diamond Veins" aka the Diamond Body.

With a big smile, Atlas extended his hand towards the book and then took the book in his hand, and at that moment, a system he had never expected had formed in front of his window:

[The anti-magic power {Aura Arts} has been detected. The user is currently unable to use both powers at the same time, would you like to adapt your body to both powers?

 YES/NO]

When Atlas read the message on this system window, he paused for a few seconds. He seemed naturally confused. He had chosen to reread it two or even three times as if he didn't understand what was written in the window, but everything described the same situation.

Magic and Aura couldn't exist in the same body, there was no other explanation. Magic was a force that rejected aura and aura rejected magic. Magic was the life force centred around the heart, while aura was the life force in the whole body especially in the veins.

This was the reason why it was so difficult to train. Aura literally allowed one to train one's life force.

A longer life, a healthier body and many more.

Magic was not like that. Magic was that layer around all life. It was a power that could always be replenished as long as life existed, and even if it was depleted, it could be regathered in the body and its level increased with the magic rings around the heart.

This made the two forces fire and water in conflict with each other.

At least this was what was known. But how?

Atlas was genuinely worried for a few seconds. The fact that he did not know what would happen if he pressed 'yes' made him uneasy. The fact that he was someone who calculated every move he made, every step he took, including in battle, by taking the next tens of steps, made him worry about this situation.

Nevertheless, despite all this, this option could put him ahead of everyone. If he accepted it, and it was indeed possible, there was no limit to what he could do.

He could be... invincible.

An indestructible body and an endless mana...Even the dream was incredible.

"Alright...I have to do this, there's no way I can just throw away a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity like this." Atlas said to himself and with that he took a deep breath and pressed 'yes'.

At that moment, his head suddenly spun. Suddenly he fell on the throne and then his breathing became laboured and his eyes blurred. The pain in his body was increasing. It was as if every muscle cell in his body was writhing in agony and every bone was aching.

The goblin shaman was literally writhing on his throne, constantly moving in place, his senses going blank while his mind was blurring.

After almost a minute of serious writhing, he tried to right himself. He thought that something bad was going to happen to him, and at that moment he rolled himself down the stairs leading to the throne and onto the flat floor of the room.

He lay on the ashes of the goblin bodies on the ground and then gave up all control of his body.

It was a painful process that cannot be described precisely. Every second he felt as if someone was stabbing him in dozens of places and even burning his skin.

What he didn't realise was that everything was working in his favour. Everywhere he felt that he was being stabbed, his nerves went to the next level, and his skin, which felt like it was burning, became even stronger. It got to the point where he could no longer stand it.

Finally, he passed out where he was.

Chronos had already helped Atlas more than anyone could have imagined.

After almost three days, he finally managed to wake up. Atlas had been unconscious for three days and his body had writhed and writhed.

When he woke up, he realised that the pain and the tightness, the discomfort in his body was gone. Still, his body ached, it would not be wrong to say that it ached badly.

He managed to stand upright, albeit with difficulty, and stood up. When he sat down on the wooden stairs, he took a deep breath and then calmly questioned, "Well...what happened?"

Immediately after his enquiry, several system windows had already opened in front of him:

[The user's body has undergone a great change. The ancient powers of {Magic} and {Aura} can now reside in this body without any trouble.]

[Congratulations! The user has gained the achievement {Two in one!}.]

[Congratulations! The user has gained the {Intelligence} status.]

[Congratulations! User has gained the {Strenght} status.]

[Congratulations! User has gained {Endurance} status.]

[Congratulations! User has gained {Agility} status.]

[Congratulations! The user has learnt the art of {Diamond Body}, and the book has been placed in your inventory.]

When Atlas read the system windows he saw one after the other, he was curious, but at the same time, he was incredibly happy. There were many things he could not understand, but there was only one thing he understood for sure:

[He was the first and only person in the history of the world who could use magic and aura at the same time.]

This was absolutely and absolutely an inconceivable achievement.

He had become someone who could be seen as the highest point of the human race.
