Anime Collector: Starting With the Malevolent Shrine

Perhaps it was that sense of duty deeply buried in her heart.

Ichika, who had been helped to her room by the maid, fought through the haze of drunkenness and drowsiness. Through her blurred vision, she could barely make out the figures of Daiki and Mrs. Yukinoshita.

Not seeing Haruno and Yukino made her feel relieved. At least she hadn't completely betrayed Nino and Miku's trust.

"Miss Nakano, don't you need to rest?" Mrs. Yukinoshita asked in a gentle voice, elegantly brushing her sleeve.

"I just came to check on Daiki-kun." Ichika's mind gradually cleared as the cold wind brushed past her, "Daiki-kun, where's your room? I want to wash my face first."

"Oh, it's over there—" Mrs. Yukinoshita's finger suddenly froze in place.

She suddenly remembered that Haruno hadn't come out yet. If Ichika were to see her, it would inevitably affect Daiki.

But her stiff gesture came too late.

She hurriedly tried to remedy the situation, "Mr. Daiki's room hasn't been cleaned yet. Why doesn't Miss Nakano wash up in my room first? Once I have someone finish cleaning that side, you can—"

Before she could finish speaking, Ichika had already disappeared from sight.

Beads of sweat appeared on her fair forehead.

"Daiki-kun, couldn't you have stopped her?" The dignified Mrs. Yukinoshita complained with an uncharacteristically coquettish expression.

"Didn't you already try to fix it?" Daiki's eyes glanced over as his fingertip lightly brushed past her lips.

This action immediately made the woman avoid his gaze.

She remembered how earlier, just after he came out glistening from inside Haruno, he forcibly pressed that huge thing against her throat, made to taste the flavor of her own daughter's fluids mixed with his. It wasn't until he was completely clean that he appreciatively "caressed" her face with a few "pats".

If others knew about this, she wouldn't be able to show her face.

"What were you looking at earlier, Daiki-kun?" Mrs. Yukinoshita nervously changed the subject, eager to move past that matter.

"Observing the Evil Spirits outside the Yukinoshita mansion. Does your family have any Cursed Objects that can suppress them?" He asked, turning his head.

"Oh..." Mrs. Yukinoshita thought for a moment, then continued, "You mean Cursed Spirits, right? We've acquired quite a few Cursed Objects that can suppress them. There's a special place in the shrine where we keep these things. If Daiki-kun is interested, I can take you there."

As she finished speaking, heavy footsteps suddenly came from behind her.

Ichika, her face flushed red, walked up to Mrs. Yukinoshita in disbelief.

"Mrs. Yukinoshita, Daiki-kun should stay in my room for now!" She said through gritted teeth, her anger brewing.

Haruno's room-cleaning skills were truly remarkable.

No wonder this woman had tried to stop her from going to that room — it was all to pave the way for her daughter!

When she had entered the room, she'd seen Haruno completely naked! Even with the lights off, the moonlight had clearly revealed her malicious intent!

She had been waiting for Daiki to walk into her trap and lose control!

If Ichika hadn't gone to check herself, Miku would have suffered another betrayal.

Fortunately, he was still talking with Mrs. Yukinoshita about Cursed Objects and hadn't gone there yet.

She wiped the sweat rolling down her cheeks, still shaken. These supposedly noble families were even more unscrupulous than she had imagined!

Today they would have Haruno use her feminine charms, tomorrow it could be Yukino, and who knew who else the day after — she didn't dare to think about it!

But now that she, Ichika, was here, she wouldn't let their schemes succeed!

Looking at the girl's serious expression, Mrs. Yukinoshita was slightly taken aback.

She wasn't sure if Ichika had held back or simply hadn't seen clearly. Come to think of it, with the lights off earlier, perhaps she hadn't noticed.

Mrs. Yukinoshita let out a slow breath, relieved after her earlier fright.

"If Daiki-kun doesn't mind, we have no objections." She said, covering her mouth as she laughed softly.

'As expected! Cut from the same cloth as Haruno!' Ichika thought bitterly, seeing this woman's gentle laugh.

After all, who wouldn't want to get involved with Haruno, that renowned beauty? Fortunately, Daiki probably didn't know she was in his room.

"Daiki-kun..." Ichika gazed at him pleadingly.

"If you're not uncomfortable with it, I don't mind."

"Of course not!" Her determination made even Mrs. Yukinoshita glance at her.

"Would you like to go see the Cursed Objects?" The mature woman shaked her head subtly and offered.

"Sure, let's go." Daiki readily agreed.

"Then I'll head back to my room. Don't forget, Daiki-kun." Ichika waved her hand, not following them.

After all, they were going to look at Cursed Objects, and there wasn't much point in her tagging along. Better not make him uncomfortable.

"Daiki-kun, what were you saying earlier about cursed... Evil Spirits?"

Walking along the dark, empty path, Mrs. Yukinoshita asked.

"The Evil Spirits and Cursed Spirits outside are multiplying rapidly. I'm certain your family's Cursed Objects won't provide sufficient protection for much longer." Daiki stated with clear conviction.

Just recently, he had sensed the energy in heaven and earth rising rapidly. The rate at which Evil Spirits were forming was increasing exponentially — far beyond what seemed natural.

He didn't know where the problem had occurred, and he definitely wasn't the only one who could sense this issue.

"How can this be!" Mrs. Yukinoshita covered her mouth in shock.

"I'm not sure exactly where the problem lies. However, I can help your family prepare some defenses. Consider it a reward for madam's hard work."

His words made the mature woman's face flush red.

At the same time, she couldn't help but feel a surge of fear.

As for whether what he said was true, Mrs. Yukinoshita had no doubts. With his abilities, he had no need to rely on deception.

After a while, they arrived at a small shrine containing the artifacts collected over the years.

Daiki's gaze swept over the various Cursed Objects collected by the Yukinoshita family.

It met his expectations — using multiple Cursed Objects to dispel the Cursed Spirits outside the Yukinoshita family estate.

Daiki raised his finger, and a bell charm fell into his palm. He channeled a strand of Spiritual Power that he had condensed while at the shrine into it.

The exquisite gold and jade bell suddenly emanated a purple glow. The other Cursed Objects dimmed when they encountered this mysterious purple energy.

Mrs. Yukinoshita stared at this miraculous sight.

'The Spiritual Power condensed through the Art of Breathing Method is much stronger than ordinary Cursed Power. I wonder how Spiritual Power condensed through the Yin-Yang Primordial Method would compare.' The thought flashed through Daiki's mind.

"Daiki-kun, is everything alright now?" Mrs. Yukinoshita asked in a humble voice.

"The protection will last until this strand of Spiritual Power is depleted."

"How long will that be?"

"About three months under normal conditions. However, if you provoke anything dangerous, the Spiritual Power will be consumed much faster."

Mrs. Yukinoshita nodded thoughtfully.

"The limitation." Daiki explained, "Is that I can only condense a small amount of Spiritual Power. With more, I could infuse multiple strands into this bell charm."

"This power must be quite precious then. Is there anything I can do to help?" Mrs. Yukinoshita asked, recognizing its value.

Daiki nearly declined, but then considered that he hadn't yet tested the effects of the Yin-Yang Primordial Method.

"There is one rapid method." He said carefully, "Though it's rather... unique. I would require madam's personal assistance with the cultivation."
