AngelSubzero - Douma's Adventures (S1)

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

In the depths of Hasu Mountains lies villages and waterfalls that coexisted peacefully together for centuries. Every Spring, hundreds of lotus flowers bloom on the crystal-clear waters attracting villagers to the area. It was a land of enrichment and peace.

The tallest mountain was surrounded by slightly smaller ones. Hence the name 'Hasu Mountains' because not only were Lotuses abundant but the shape of the place looks like a huge lotus from a distance, it was a beautiful sight beloved by many especially the villagers because every day of their lives was something to look forward to and the reason behind that was because of the one who takes care of it in the shrine located in the tallest mountain right beside a large Cherry Blossom tree.

Like any other day, Paradise Shrine had visitors looking to seek advice from the shrine's leader. This morning a few of them came but they will have to wait for a while because the founder was tending to the evergreen garden that evoked a sense of closeness to nature's values.

Beside the tall tree in the middle of the garden was a tall platinum-blonde male with multicolored eyes in a red kimono and pinstripe hakama pants. His features were angelic that looking at the founder automatically washes away any worries that one may have, he was soothing to look at and the villagers often referred to him as 'An Angel sent down from Heaven.' There were those who believed this statement not only because of his charismatic looks but his kindness too.

The platinum-blonde male watched the koi fish swimming around in the pond as he fed them. Various colors swirled around in the water, the koi fish were excited to see the founder he always brought food for them and took very great care of the pond.

A pair of footsteps could be heard approaching the entrance. The platinum-blonde male looked up and saw one of his 'followers' standing by the hall. It was time for the meeting with both his followers and a few of the visitors, today's seemed urgent and he had a feeling it was something he already knew.

"My apologies I didn't mean to disturb you Gracious Founder, the visitors have arrived and are waiting patiently in the main hall." The person bowed and waited for the blonde male's response.

"Alright I'll be there in a minute."

"We'll make them some tea for refreshments, one for you too Lord Douma."

"Thank you go ahead." The blonde male placed the jar of fish pellets on one of the shelves and walked out of the garden, greeted by all the people who have gathered there and sat on the mini couch on an elevated platform facing the shrine's entrance which was partially open to the outdoors letting in cool breeze.

Putting on his hat and adjusting his seat, Douma sat comfortably and gave an opening speech to the people gathered in front of him as they listened closely to everything he said. Some of them were touched by his kind words and expressed their gratitude for his kindness and help throughout the hardest times of their lives. They couldn't wait to give him some gifts they had prepared.

Honestly Douma didn't really know how to feel about these people treating him as a deity for worship it felt a little off because even though he came from a different realm he was just another divine being in this world with unfathomable abilities, he wasn't God. Despite his efforts to convince these people that there was no need to treat him that way they always strayed down that path.

"Gracious Founder it's getting colder each day, our crops are withering we're worried another famine might dawn over our village please help us!" One of the people in the crowd pleaded his expression displayed that of grief and tension.

"It's not even Winter yet! Please explain to us what's happening!" Another person cried her face holding the same expression, everyone seemed to be in a lot of despair.

"Yeah tell us!" Now everyone was demanding for answers.

And that was the problem. There was only one short and simple answer. If Douma told them they'd have a hard time believing him and soon he might even start losing some of his followers reason being that his abilities alone are causing the sudden drop in temperatures.

The Hasu Mountains faced scorching hours of heat during summer. Everyone came to Paradise Shrine in hopes that Douma will grant them cold weather which he did. The heat was getting overwhelming to the point where food became a luxury as animals and plants gave in to the intense temperatures. Despite his good intentions there were consequences, not long after the last day of temporary wintery weather to combat the heat, a storm came and would sometimes keep people in their homes. It became too cold to leave home during the storm.

Apparently, the atmosphere was containing the cold that had accumulated into a storm as this was no ordinary cold Earth had come across. Douma was certain that explaining this in the simplest terms would leave huge question marks.

Soon temperatures will drop everywhere else. It's slowly happening as other parts of Japan are already experiencing this strange phenomenon based on the visitors' conversations with his followers. Douma had been trying to find ways to fix this he only managed to do so temporarily a few times. No matter what he did to disperse the storm it always came back. What's even more concerning is that every time he used his powers the storm became worse like it was adding on to its formation in the atmosphere.

I've been staying here for almost a year now, nothing happened until I changed the weather a little because the people here were suffering during that time period. This is the exact reason why blending in with humans while using such abilities is not wise. Douma was slowly starting to regret his decision of staying on Earth while controlling the extent of his powers, it wasn't going to work.

"Look at this poor sparrow I found on the ground! He must've fallen from a tree because of the cold," A frightened-looking man among the people held a small bird in his palms with an injured wing. "If you care about Hasu Mountains you'd heal this bird right now."

Using more abilities now was adding salt to the wound, these people were really testing him but for the sake of the poor unfortunate bird he'll use his healing ability as long as the bird flies again like it should.

Douma got up and went over to the petrified man who was holding up the sparrow the others watched carefully, the blonde male could hear some whispers, he just ignored them and picked up the sparrow carefully. The animal was still warm but its heartbeat was fast, imagine being surrounded by many people while being that size. The sparrow seemed to know what he was about to do as everyone observed, it was as though it could understand him and the situation.
