ANNOUNCEMENT!

I have written this story till volume 3 and thought is is kinda of a shame to not at least release the first volume in its entirety, so I have decided to do a release and the story will be re-released 1 chapter a day until volume one, the nightmare, is full published.

Just to not be a dick and drop an announcement out of nowher and not provide any lore, here is a draft from a chapter of volume 2. Hope you enjoy and expect great things!

[Wake up, Chiron! Your nightmare is over.]

[Prepare for appraisal…]

"Hhheeeehh! Fuck! I'm alive! The fuck?! What happened! Answer me! I deserve an explanation!"

But the only thing that answered his demand were a bunch of runes coming from... Somewhere.

[Aspirant! Your trial is over.]

[A nameless human, who could barely defended himself defeated a superior opponent, but not only that, he withstood an army. While others ran to safety, he stood still. Pushing his body beyond any limit imaginable and then did it again, just to protect others he didn't even know the names of. With no end in sight and nothing but despair all around you, you stood as a pillar of hope, as the enemies rained down their attacks on this pillar and before the mind the body broke.]

He was an Aspirant no more, but a dreamer now, if it even meant anything in the grand scheme of things.

While Chiron was in thought, the rewards kept coming.

*Okay? I guess it can do more now? Meh, I will probably still only use it for condensing my body.* He shrugged his imaginary shoulders.

Chiron's body felt like it was born anew. His muscles had finally relaxed after being traumatized for months and his body was full of strength. Chiron breathed in and out imaginary air, as he enjoyed not being a dying existence barely clinging onto hope of survival.

He felt this power and relief directly from his soul.

[Awakening Aspect Ability…]

'This is it. Now I get to receive a new power! One even stronger!* thought Chiron and he was proven right.

A Divine Aspect wouldn't disappoint anyone with its power, especially one gained through pure anguish.

Chiron sighed. His flaw wasn't even much of a flaw. Not having to sleep? Full 24 hours a day to do whatever? Who could complain about such a nice "boon". Those who didn't understand its true meaning.

Chiron clicked on Chrono, but nothing happened. He clicked another time, and another, and another, and another, and another, and another, but it didn't do anything. "Great, first overdraft and now this. At least Chrono's name is a good enough of a hint to know it does something with time. Hell, I even got an echo, but considering how I killed over 5 thousand people, The odds were in my favour, hell, why didn't I get two? I killed almost 6 thousand humans, no way the odds are that low."

With his aspect now finalized, Chiron in the real world opened his eyes. He felt weak, like he was dying of thirst. He tried moving, but Vertigo took over and he couldn't even lift his head.

"Ahh. My head's spinning. How long was I out?"

Before he could reorientate himself and get used to the situation, Chiron heard a striking voice. It was like a beast calling his name "Congratulations, sleeper Chiron! You managed to pass your nightmare. You have been asleep for just shy of 4 days."

The revelation almost shocked him Chiron awake. *4 days? I've spent 365 days in there? What's this conversion like? 1-100? Couldn't I have stayed there and just trained for a hundred years and come out a wise old man? Though it makes sense. With my weak actual body, I couldn't withstand sleeping for a day, much less an actual year.*

"Whatever happened in your nightmare wasn't real, I'm sure you know that. Some nightmares have severe effects on the psyche, so I suggest you rest and get over your trauma. Afterwards, you may come to the academy. That is all, good day, Sleeper Chiron."
