Akame Ga Kill - Garou

Chapter 10: The Payback

Garou hid between the trees and waited silently, his wait didn't last long as he heard footsteps approaching his location quickly, he kept his eyes in the direction of the footsteps sound, barely a moment and his sight was welcome with three people.

The three were the same from yesterday, only the woman with the big scissors is missing. Garou felt a little pity, one of his targets was not there but he Still smiled, he didn't come here in vain.

"So where is the intruder, Lubbock" The blonde woman asked

"How should I know? He didn't trigger another wire. Either he left, or he spotted my traps and decided to hide," Lubbock replied.

"We should search around, we can't fail the boss again" The armoured guy said

"Najenda wasn't happy about yesterday's failure," Lubbock sighed.

Arrgh, don't remind me... How I wish I could meet that bastard again. I'd snap his neck with my bare hands," Leone growled, still fuming from their last encounter.

"Hooah, you should watch out for what you wish, your wishes might come to bite you hehehe" Garou sound rang from behind the three.

All three jumped away from the voice, they were shocked by hearing the sudden voice. And when they turned around, they were welcomed by a familiar face with silver hair. They got more shocked when they realised he was standing nearly 3 meters behind them, they didn't know when he sneaked behind him or how.

"Trying to sneak up on us like that, you are quite the coward, aren't you?" Leone said with disdain. Nevertheless, she still took a stance preparing for the fight, the other two did the same.

Garou remained relaxed, he refuted calmly "Says the one who ganged with another three to attack someone heavily injured. Besides, if I wanted to sneak attack you, then no one of you would be still standing"

Leone narrowed her eyes, the other two did the same. If he sneak attacked them with the strength and speed he showed yesterday, then he may indeed manage to kill someone among them or at the very least injure them.

"And why didn't you attack us? Are you telling me you are here to talk with us" Lubbock asked curiously. He was the smartest member of the night raid, and he thought if their enemy didn't take the chance of attacking them, then he might not be here for a fight.

"Talk? No, I'm here to take revenge for yesterday and beat the hell out of you. Truthfully I hoped all the four of you would be present. Three is fine as well, I will make sure you all will share the payback of your missing friend" Garou replied. He seemed a little down when he spoke about not meeting all of them.

"You'll regret not taking your chance when you had it," Leone smirked, cracking her knuckles. "Yesterday, we sent you running with your tail between your legs. This time, we'll take you down for good."

Garou chuckled—a deep, mocking laugh. "Hahaha… Take me down? That's the funniest joke I've heard in a while." His eyes flashed ominously. "Yesterday, I was tired. Injured. Barely able to fight properly. And even then, you still failed to defeat me. But now? Now, I'm at 100%." His grin widened. "So tell me… how exactly do you plan to fight me now?"

His words woke them to reality. They had forgotten a crucial detail about their last encounter. Yesterday, he had looked like he was on the verge of collapse, yet he had still managed to hold his own. Now, he stood before them in peak condition. Worse still, they were down one fighter. What had already been a difficult battle was now about to become a nightmare.

"Are you ready?" Garou asked, his smile turning manic as he eyed the three assassins.

A shiver ran down their spines. The sheer pressure radiating from him was unlike anything they had ever felt before.

"Here I come," Garou said, stepping forward.

A few hours later, inside the Night Raid hideout, Tatsumi found himself stripped down by Akame, who continued inspecting his body for injuries.

"Are you crazy?!" Tatsumi yelled, trying to stop her, but Akame ignored his protests and kept checking him over.

"That's just how Akame is. Just give up, Tatsumi," Najenda said with a smirk.

After thoroughly ensuring he wasn't injured, Akame finally stopped and explained, "Sorry. One of my old comrades once ignored a minor wound during battle. It wasn't serious or life-threatening, so he didn't think much of it… but he ended up dying from poison that had been in the wound."

Tatsumi's frustration faded as he listened to her words. He sighed and nodded. "Thanks for worrying about me." After putting his clothes back on, he turned to Najenda. "By the way, boss, where are Bro and the others?"

Najenda froze. She had been so caught up in work that she had completely forgotten about them. "They went out a few hours ago to investigate a possible intruder… I didn't realize they still haven't returned."

Akame tensed slightly, concern flashing in her eyes. "Something might have happened to them. We should go look for them—they could be in danger."

Tatsumi nodded firmly. "Count me in! I'm coming with you!"

Najenda considered the situation for a moment before speaking. "Akame, wait a moment. Tatsumi, go call Mine and Sheele. We're all going together. Splitting up would put us at risk and lower our chances of helping them if they were ambushed."

Akame hesitated but ultimately agreed with the reasoning. Without wasting time, Tatsumi ran off to find the others.

A few minutes later, he returned with Mine and Sheele. After Najenda quickly filled them in, the two grabbed their weapons, and the group headed out.

Standing outside the hideout, Najenda summoned her flying beast.

"Do you know where they went?" Mine asked.

Najenda nodded. "Lubbock informed me about the general location. We'll start searching from there."

The five of them mounted the flying beast and took off.

A few minutes into their flight, Mine squinted down at the ground. "I see someone lying there. I can't make out who it is because of the darkness."

Najenda's expression hardened. "Everyone, prepare for the worst! We're going down."

The others drew their weapons, bracing themselves for whatever awaited them. As soon as the beast descended, they leaped off and rushed toward the figure.

What they saw left them speechless.

The body belonged to a man—tall and muscular—but what stunned them wasn't just his size. It was his appearance.

He was practically naked, wearing nothing but his underwear. His face was swollen beyond recognition, his skin had turned a deep shade of purple, and his eyes were buried beneath bruises. His lips were grotesquely swollen, almost resembling a hippo's. His head was a mess—hair clung only to the sides and back, while the top was bald with streaks of blood running down his scalp.

The sight was beyond disturbing. It was so bad that his head didn't resemble that of a human; no one of them recognized who he was at first and just stared at him silently.

"Bro!" Tatsumi's scream broke the silence.

"What!" the rest of them were surprised.

Tatsumi got closer to the man, he said with a tear in his eyes "It is bro! Look at this scar, it was on bro's body."

The four of them were shocked, and Najenda hurriedly got closer to inspect the man. She said in a grave tone "He is indeed Bulat. Luckily he is still alive, but his body has many wounds, especially his face."

"Whoever did this, I'm going to KILL THEM ALL!!" Tatsumi screamed with determination as the others had a similar look in their eyes.

"Tatshumi!!! Ish fat yo"

Weak scream came from behind the wood. The five recognised it, it belonged to Leone!! The five ran as fast as they could toward Leone. And yet they were surprised again.

Leone's body was buried under the ground as her bruised head was sticking out of it. Her Teigu belt was used to block her mouth. Her eyes were filled with tears, they were tears of happiness. She was like someone saw a long-missing lover or a family member. The assassins were stunned by this, was this the same headstrong Leone?

"Eeeeeeh" Sheele suddenly squeaked, alerting the assassins who were still looking at Leone, they turned to Sheele who was staring terrified as she pointed her finger behind Leone, at the top of the trees.

The four looked in the direction, and they felt horrified by the sight, Lubbock was hanging upside down from one of the tallest trees. His wires are tying him, making sure he won't fall or free himself anytime soon. Lubbock's eyes were rolled to the back of his head, leaving only the white colour in his semi-opened eyes, while his mouth wide open showing that he screamed loudly before losing his consciousness. And what truly horrified them was a branch tree sprouting from his ass.

"What the fuck happened here?!" Najenda cursed loudly as three of her elite assassins were reduced to such a state, she was shocked and outraged beyond belief.
