Agents of SHIELD: Nexus

Chapter 14: Fear Itself

Mick stood up, his head pounding wildly, he couldn't quite place why things felt so off, but the odd purple aura radiating from the storage room made his skin crawl. "Guys?" Mick called out.

"You stole her from me," a familiar voice called out from behind Mick, causing his heart to stop. Mick spun around seeing a horribly disfigured Lincoln, his face scarred and burned, presumably by his one way trip with Hive.

"How?" Mick gasped as Lincoln inched closer, electricity sparking from his hands. "How are you here?"

"Revenge," Lincoln stated darkly reaching up for Mick.

"Lincoln?" Daisy asked as his face snapped her direction, then he vanished into smoke.

"What the bloody 'ell was that?" Fitz asked as they gathered together.

"No clue," Mick sighed.

"It couldn't have been real," Daisy seemed just as much stunned as Mick was as Fitz walked over to the opening, seeing a rather small rift with a purple aura floating where the monoliths once were.

"I have a strange feeling it's not the only thing coming out of that," Fitz pointed as Daisy and Mick both stared in awe at the rift. "We should warn the others."

Fitz wasted no time sending down the drones to run an analysis on the strange rift, Patten helping out with the data stream. May, Bobbi, and Lance worked on surveying parts of the Lighthouse, while Daisy and Deke were sent to gather as many supplies as they could carry. Mick sought out Coulson due to his eerie encounter.

"You really think it was him?" Coulson asked as he sat in lounge.

"It looked like him," Mick said weakly. "Even sounded like him."

"That's not possible," Coulson said as Mick pressed his lips into a frown. "Okay, it's not probable."

"What if Hive took him over and somehow survived the explosion?" Mick's nerves were eating at him.

"Why come back now?" Coulson asked as Mick shrugged. "I think it was just a stress vision."

"Then how would Daisy have seen it?" Mick asked as Coulson shrugged.

"May has a team looking for anything out of place, so we'll know if he's actually down there," Coulson said as Mick sighed. "If there's anything down there, surely someone else will see it too."

"Coulson!" Fitz's voice came from mission control. "You're going to want to see this!"

Mick and Coulson rushed into mission control to see the video feed from the supply room paused on the center screen. "What happened?" Coulson asked as both Patten and Fitz wore a look of deep concern. Fitz then pressed play as they watched. Daisy and Deke were pulling food supplies into a hand basket when a large blue human like creature attacked. Daisy managed to fend it off, before May appeared, shooting the thing causing it to vanish into a cloud of purple and black smoke, just like Lincoln did when Daisy called out to him. Mick looked at Coulson who wore a look of deep concern, matching that of the other two.

"When did this happen?" Coulson asked, more like demanded.

"A few moments ago," Patten replied. "Fitz's drone went dead, then we lost the feed near May and the others. We then called for them to check in with Daisy and Deke just in case."

"Good thing you did," Mick sounded exasperated.

"Ey," Fitz agreed. "From the data Sleepy sent back before it went offline, combined with analytics of that footage. The creatures, if you will, seem to be made of the same mist pouring out of the rift."

"So the Kree that May shot wasn't real?" Coulson said calmly as Mick nodded.

"It doesn't appear to be," Fitz said nervously.

"But that doesn't make it any less dangerous," Patten added. "While being made of the mist, it still has significant impacts on the things around it." Patten pointed at the damage to the shelves after it's fight with Daisy.

"Can we get a scan of how far the mist has reached, and close all of that down?" Coulson seemed a little more on edge.

"We can certainly try," Fitz seemed a little unsure. "I'll do my best to get any information we can once May and her team get back."

"Good," Coulson stated firmly. "Once we get it closed off, we need to find a way to close the rift so nothing else escapes."

"Yes sir," Patten and Fitz said harmoniously.

"I need to check in with Mack and Yo-yo," Coulson said plainly. "Keep me posted on any findings."

"Will do," Mick said as he turned his focus back to the screen.

"Don't worry, she's still strong without her powers," Patten said as Mick glanced at him sideways. "She didn't tell you about the inhibitor chip?"

"No?" Mick was much more uncomfortable with this information, but it made sense why Daisy went hand to hand with the Kree rather than just blasting it.

"She mentioned it during her debriefing, I figured you'd heard about it," Fitz said as Mick shook his head.

"Guess I missed that memo," Mick huffed.

"Did you two talk about anything after the debriefing?" Patten asked, switching the monitors to live feed.

"Didn't have much time," Mick shrugged. "Basically went from there to running off to St. Louis." Mick's tone rang out his frustrations.

"Where's Coulson?" May's voice brought a wave of relief to Mick as he turned to see a bruised Daisy leaning on May with, Deke, Bobbi, and Lance behind them.

"Medical bay," Patten responded.

"You ok?" Mick asked as Daisy nodded.

"Yeah," Deke started. "I mean, seeing a Kree warrior shook me up a bit, but I'm fine."

"I'm ok," Daisy replied as Mick smiled haphazardly. Deke then frowned realizing no one asked him.

"She needs a once over from Simmons just to rule out any fractures," Bobbi said as she followed behind May.

"Did you see that blue creep?" Lance asked. "May said that's the aliens that they fought in the future."

"Yeah, we gathered that," Patten said as Lance shrugged. "What did you see in the basement?"

"A smaller, quick blue lady. Sable, of all people, and a room that looked like a beautiful forest," Lance said as Mick, Patten and Fitz all raised a brow. "Still don't know what was up with that."

"Really?" Deke seemed quite surprised by their looks of confusion. "Bugs, dirt, chaos. That's freaking terrifying."

"Makes more sense now," Patten said trying to suppress a laugh. "How close were each of you to the rift when those things appeared?"

"Wait, are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Fitz asked as Patten shrugged.

"The blue girl appeared before May in a cloud of smoke, Sable appeared before Bobbi, we fought them off and bailed before anything else showed up," Lance explained.

"You keep saying Sable," Fitz stated. "Silver Sable, the mercenary?"

"That's the one," Lance said with a shiver. "That one's completely bonkers."

"You can say that again," Patten agreed. "Never enjoyed any encounters we had with her."

"Based on that then maybe that mist only creates things we're afraid off," Fitz began to murmur to himself causing Mick to glance at him curiously. "I need some more data."

"I'll go down there if you want," Mick shrugged. "We'll say we're testing the theory."

"That's a pretty risky move there Mick," Lance stated.

"What other choice do we have?" Mick asked.

"That's too dangerous. I'll run a few more tests on the data we have, and see if I can gather anything from the surveillance system," Fitz said as Mick frowned.

"Go check on her," Patten motioned for Mick to leave. "We should have something by the time you get back."

"Thanks," Mick half smiled. He did need some time to decompress, more than anything, he wanted to be sure no one else was attacked by the mist creations.

The whole way to medical, Mick couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching him. Even his shadow had him on edge, startling him at every turn until finally he reached his destination. Coulson stood outside, while Mack paced anxiously. "I thought it was going to be quick?" Mick chimed in as Mack and Coulson turned to him.

"Yo-yo had an episode," Mack stated somberly. "It happens every time she needs another dose of pain medicine.

"Is she doing ok?" Mick asked as Mack shook his head.

"She's strong, but this is really eating at her mentally," Mack said with a heavy tone.

"She's convinced that the future we lived in is going to happen," Coulson said.

"Why?" Mick asked as Mack groaned.

"She saw herself in the future, armless, as a captive that was tormented by Kasius," Mack stated as Mick guessed that was one of the Kree. "I saw her too, but I just figured it was a mind game Kasius was playing on us. That's mostly what he did, among other atrocities."

"So that's why she kept saying that on the way back?" Mick asked as Mack nodded. "I'm going to fight to make sure that future doesn't happen."

"We all are," Coulson stated.

"No," Mack said firmly. "I'm going to protect Yo-yo. I'll help if I'm absolutely needed, but she needs me. She can't protect herself like this."

"Mack," Coulson seemed mixed, his expression both agreeing and disagreeing. "It's your call." He was quite reluctant in his expression, but sincere in heart.

"We'll make sure you can be with her," Mick stepped up.

"Thank's Webby," Mack nodded with a sincere smile.

"She'll be alright," Jemma poked her head out as Daisy exited the room. "Mack, Yo-yo was looking for you. She is coming back around now."

"Thanks Simmons. Stay safe you two," Mack said as he looked back, nodding at Coulson and Mick before swapping places with Daisy.

The trio then made their way back to Mission control to see if any progress had been made on the rift and mist situation. May was now in the room was Fitz and Patten had a strange looking analyzing program on the main screen as well as several static screens around it which made absolutely no sense at first glance. It didn't take long for them to be noticed by Fitz, who had a very worried expression.

"I'm glad you made it back," he stammered. "You didn't encounter anything strange out there did you?"

"No?" Coulson stated rather nervously.

"Good," Patten seemed relieved.

"What have you found out?" Coulson asked in a demanding manner.

"The rift seems to be another dimension all together," Fitz stated. "It was created when the monoliths shattered, so there's no telling exactly where, what, or when it leads to."

"Okay," Coulson seemed to be taking it better than anyone else. Daisy and Mick both had a clear look of deep concern, May kept her normal, stoic expression.

"Based on what we gathered, this dimension feeds on the fears of anyone in contact with the Mist," Patten said as Fitz nodded.

"With that, we dubbed it the FEAR dimension. Unfortunately the problem doesn't stop there," Fitz took over. "It appears the rift is expanding, and the mist is seeping farther into the corridors of the Lighthouse. With May and the other's help we sealed it as best as we could, but the more the rift expands, the more mist pours out, and the more dangerous this place becomes."

"Anything else?" Coulson asked as Patten and Fitz both took in a deep breath.

"There's no telling if this rift could potentially tear the fabric of reality apart if left unchecked," Fitz said nervously.

"Grand," Daisy muttered. "So either I destroy the world, or this tear in reality does? What's the point of even trying then?"

"We can't give up that easy," Coulson said looking back at Daisy.

"There's a chance we can use some stolen Gravitonium to attempt to close the rift," Fitz said as Patten seemed quite unsure of the plan.

"It's not a guarantee that it'll hold it," Patten stated. "But it could possibly buy us time so we can figure out a more permanent solution."

"Any chance is better than nothing," May stated firmly. "What do we have to do then?"

"That's the bigger problem," Fitz frowned. "Not only do I have to build a device that can force the rift closed with Gravitonium, someone has to go down there and use the device."

"Everything electronic the mist comes into contact with shorts out, so it's not even a guarantee the device will work once it reaches the rift," Patten added.

"I'll go," Mick and Daisy volunteered in unison, then glanced at each other with a frown.

"No," Coulson stated as May began to step forward.

"I'll handle it," May said firmly.

"No," Coulson repeated, he wore a strange look of both concern and desperation. "I'll do it."

"No," Daisy responded. "I'm the expendable one!" She declared. "If I go down there and fail, then there's no way I can end the world."

"No!" Mick snapped. "There's no way you're going to do that without your powers! I'll go down there and handle it."

"Neither one of you are going to handle this," Coulson said firmly. "I'm the expendable one, I'll be the one who handles this."

"You can't!" Daisy fussed. "What do we do without you?"

"You keep on being SHIELD!" Coulson stated rather harshly.

"There is no SHIELD without you!" Daisy's voice cracked.

"You guys are SHIELD!" Coulson yelled. "One day you'll have to carry on without me! You'll be the worlds protectors! The ones fighting for those who can't!"

"Coulson," Mick couldn't even bare the thought of a world without Coulson. He had been there for him for over half of his life, he wasn't willing to let go now.

"Coulson?" May's voice and concern pulled Mick from his daze, as she rushed to Coulson's side as he collapsed to the ground. "Say something!"

"I'll get Jemma!" Fitz called out.

"Coulson," Mick said weakly as Daisy's composure began to crumble.

"No!" Daisy cried out. "Please no! Open your eyes!" She started to fall as Mick knelt beside her, holding her as her sobbing broke free. "Please don't leave me," she muttered between sobs.

Mack arrived, and he and Patten helped to carry the unconscious Coulson to the medical room. May stayed by Coulson's side while Fitz, Mick, and Daisy stood outside the room anxiously. It felt like hours, but in reality it was only a few minutes before the door opened. May motioned for them to come in. Mick hadn't spent much time in medical, so it was quite surprising to see just how hospital like it was set up. There were several rooms stationed around a small round hub like area. The one with the closed door must've been where Yo-yo was, the others were open, all dark except the one where Coulson could be seen sitting on an examination table. They all walked in to see a screen showing a strange looking scan with what looked like a heart. Jemma had a very bleak expression, as did Mack, May, and Patten. Coulson had a very upset look as well, which only made the tension in the room that much worse.

"What is that?" Mick she'd as Jemma grimaced.

"That's the tissue around Coulson's heart," she said somberly.

"Why is it so strange looking?" Daisy asked as it seemed like no one wanted to answer, especially not Coulson.

"Because it's dying," Jemma said with a trembling voice.

"No," Mick gasped as Daisy squeezed his hand, which only broke him that much more.

"How can we stop it?" Daisy demanded.

"We can't," tears fell from Jemma's eyes.

"How long have you known?" Fitz asked looking directly at Coulson with puffy red eyes.

"Since my deal with Ghost Rider," Coulson said somberly.

"Why didn't you tell us?" Daisy asked.

"I was hoping to find the right moment," Coulson said.

"That's why you volunteered," Mick said bitterly. "You're dying?"

"Yeah," Coulson sighed.

"I won't let you," Daisy said weakly. "I'll figure something out. I won't lose you too."

"It's just not possible anymore," Jemma stated. "Without the GH325, we have nothing to prevent this."

"How long?" Fitz asked as Jemma shook her head and shrugged.

"I honestly don't know," she admitted. "It could be weeks, maybe months, if we're lucky."

"We have to focus on saving the world," Coulson said firmly.

"What about you?" Daisy asked.

"I've been thinking about that for a while," Coulson admitted. "We cherish the time we have, and live without any regrets. I already had my second chance at life. I enjoyed the most amazing family someone can have, experienced what it means to be a hero, done more than most people ever will, and I think that's as much as I could ask for."

Mick couldn't bare looking at Coulson. He knew Coulson was right, that wasn't debatable at all, but it didn't matter. Losing Coulson couldn't be an option.

"Sounds like you already made your peace then," Mack said as Coulson nodded.

"I couldn't ask for a better team to carry on my legacy," Coulson smiled through his sadness.

No one had a dry eye, even Patten was upset, as he stood by Mick with an arm on his shoulder. "Then where do we go from here?" Mick asked bitterly.

"We close the rift," Coulson stated firmly. "Fitz, Brent, I need you to make a quick working device. Mick, Daisy, I need you to get anything Fitz and Brent need, if you see anything out of the ordinary, we need to know. Mack, Jemma, you work on keeping Yo-yo comfortable while she recovers. May," Coulson paused as she looked at him sideways.

"I'll be right here with you to keep you safe," May smirked.

"Sounds fair," Coulson chuckled. "Alright, let's get to work!"

It took a little bit of time before Fitz and Patten had the machine ready for the gravitonium. It was then up to Mick and Daisy to head down to the storage to bring it up. Mick made sure to bring a pair of his SpiderFang blades, Daisy armed herself with two handguns and backup rounds. They descended into the storage room, where they encountered a thin layer of mist seeping through the sealed metal door.

"Be ready for anything," Mick said as Daisy nodded.

His heart raced as an uneasy tension made his skin crawl. He pushed through as they checked over the shelves looking for the metal ball that housed the small vial of gravitonium. "Murderer!" Lincoln's voice screamed as he appeared before Mick, kicking him backwards into Daisy.

"Go! Find the vial!" Mick called out as Daisy nodded. Mick quickly drew his blades as Lincoln's hand began to spark with power. Lincoln then threw the electrical blast at Mick, as he used his blades to absorb the electricity, but unfortunately the force launched him off his feet, crashing into the ground.

"You sent me to die so you could have her to yourself!" Lincoln screamed launching more blast at Mick, only for him to narrowly roll away.

"I wanted to take your place!" Mick called out. "I wanted it to be me." The admittance was hard, but true. Mick didn't want Lincoln to die. Daisy loved him, and was utterly devastated when he sacrificed himself to kill Hive. It's what caused her to leave SHIELD, it's what drove Mick into his manic state trying to follow her, only to be stopped by Director Mace and forced to comply by Coulson. It's what left him in such a broken state to being locked in the Framework.

Lincoln smirked darkly as he closed in on Mick. Mick clenched his blades tightly. "Then let me take your place," Lincoln stated as Mick braced to attack.

"Oh he won't do that," Ward's voice startled Mick. "He left me and his wife to die in the Framework jut to he could chase after Skye."

"That doesn't surprise me at all," Lincoln said as they both began to circle Mick like sharks.

"I didn't leave you!" Mick barked. Even if the memories of the Framework were fake, it didn't change how bad he felt for leaving them to fade into nothingness rather than fighting to preserve them, but he never really had that chance either.

"You're just a selfish little guy aren't you?" Lincoln taunted.

"Enough!" Mick called out as he began swinging. Both Ward and Lincoln moved faster, evading every swing of his blade. "You're just figments of my imagination!"

"Can a figment do this?" Ward asked as he ripped the blade from Mick's left hand, then kicking him backwards so he slammed into a rack. "Time for you to suffer for your sins Bellouve."

Mick started to get up to fight back, only to be blasted off his feet by Lincoln, landing in front of Ward who wore the same dark smile as Lincoln did. Lightning crackled from Lincoln's hands sending shockwaves through Mick's body, rendering him unable to protect himself from the blade Ward held just over his heart. Two quick shots, and the pain was over. Both Ward and Lincoln wore the look of betrayal as they faded into purple smoke.

"It's ok now," Daisy rushed to his side, helping him to his feet. Mick winced as Daisy placed his arm around her shoulder. "Did those two manifest because of you, or me?"

"Me," Mick grimaced. Those regrets were his burden to bare, Daisy already was stressed enough.

"Why are you scared of them? If I recall, you beat both of them in a fight before," Daisy stated as Mick thought back to his first encounter with Lincoln, and how neither trusted one another until a botched mission that lead to a fist fight which quickly escalated into powers, then into a mutual respect.

"Don't worry about it," Mick said bringing a sigh from Daisy. "Did you find the vial?"

"Yeah," she pulled grabbed the small container from the shelf where she set it. "Let's get out of here before anything else weird happens."

It wasn't long before the device was finished, as well as the semi-space suit Fitz designed just in case things were haywire around the rift. Coulson was then suited up for his solo mission to the hanger, and off he went. May, Mick, Daisy, and Fitz watched as the elevator closed, then headed back to mission control. Patten put the comms and camera on the main screen, which helped to ease some of the nerves of Mick and Daisy. Mack had even joined them to oversee the mission. Everything seemed went well until Coulson stepped into the thick mist, then the screen and comms scrambled before going dead.

"Guys, can anyone hear me?" Deke's voice surprised them. "I brought some reinforcements."

"What?" Mick asked in confusion. "Where even are you?"

"Parking the quinjet, can you let us in?" Mike Peterson's voice surprised everyone even more. May then left heading for the secondary hanger without a word.

"I'm confused," Daisy shook her head. "We clearly missed something big."

"Yeah, you did," Patten smiled, but not as big as Fitz did.

"If this all goes well," Fitz started. "I asked Jemma to marry me."

"Wow," Mick nodded. "That's heavy."

"Congrats!" Daisy smiled.

"Guys, seriously, we need clearance to get in," Deke said as Patten laughed.

"Opening the secondary hanger now," Patten pressing a few buttons. "May should be able to get everyone where they need to be."

"How do we know Coulson is going to be able to seal the rift?" Mick asked as Fitz looked more hopeful than he'd ever been.

"It's Coulson," Fitz smirked. "He won't quit."

After a few minutes of hoping and believing, Coulson came over the radio. "Mission accomplished. The rift is going to be closing soon, is everyone ready for this?"

"I'm bringing Simmons down in a moment," May said. "Mack is with Fitz, but you might want to come check on him and get ready yourself. I'm also sending Daisy to get Yo-yo, and Mick to get the lovebirds."

"Sounds like you have everything planned out," Coulson said as May gave a nod to Mick. Mick then nodded back as he set off.

Piper walked ahead, leaving Mick with Bobbi and Lance which were actually holding hands affectionately. "How's things going with you and your lass now?" Lance asked as Mick looked toward the ground.

"You can't wait around forever," Bobbi said politely. "You never know how much time you actually have with someone."

"And if you miss your moment, it may never come back around," Lance said as Bobbi kissed his cheek.

"Okay, what weird twilight zone am I in that you two are giving me relationship advice?" Mick asked as both of them smiled.

"Sure we have our ups and downs mate," Lance said sincerely. "But I wouldn't trade it for the world."

"Maybe when this all settles down then," Mick frowned.

"It may never settle down Mick," Bobbi said.

Mick sighed as they walked through the door into a beautiful field with a single oak tree. The aroma was spot on, even the sunlight felt real. Jemma stood beside May in a beautiful white sundress, her hair pulled back into curls. Mick smiled as Jemma looked at him beaming. Mick continued looking around seeing various SHIELD agents talking, until his eyes landed on Daisy. She wore a leather jacket, a nice red shirt, dress pants, and her knee high black boots. His heart fluttered wildly. Were they a thing? Sure they kissed, and flirted, but did that make them an item? Should they even be one? Everyone went quiet as Fitz walked in wearing a suit, his eyes locked on Jemma. He and Coulson met her under the tree, Mick taking a spot across from Daisy who was beside Jemma. Mack stood beside Mick at Fitz's side. May stood across from Mack, while Piper and Mike stood by Yo-yo's sides.

"Thanks for getting everyone here Deke," Coulson said as Deke smiled while standing beside Lance and Bobbi. "We're gathered together for this beautiful moment. One we all knew was coming from miles away. Some of us, even before they did. And we all know that if we wait any longer we're playing with fire. All in favor?"

"Ey," everyone said in unison.

"Sounds like the ey's have it," Coulson smiled. "So, alright, time for the exchanging of vows."

Jemma reached back taking a folded paper from Daisy, then looking back at Fitz with a nervous expression. "Sorry, I had to write it down," she smiled giddily.

"Fitz," Jemma couldn't help but tearing up as she looked over the words on the paper. "I knew from the moment I saw you. From our very first conversation about dielectric polarization that you would be in my life for a long time." Jemma paused as Fitz reached up, wiping the tears from her eyes. "What I didn't know is, you would become my life, my heart, and my home." She cleared her throat then smiled as Fitz brushed another tear from her face. "We joined this team hoping for an adventure, and we found way more than we had hoped for. As much fun as we've had on this adventure, I can't wait for our next adventure. The adventures of us building a family of our own, and seeing where life is going to take us. I can't wait to see where the universe takes us next."

Coulson even dabbed his eyes with a small handkerchief, as each one of the girls did the same. Mick couldn't help but smiling, wiping his eyes with his sleeve as he looked on with glee. "Agent Fitz, your turn," Coulson smiled.

Fitz stiffened up, taking in a deep breath, then letting it out. "I've been thinking about what I should say, but words just don't seem like enough," he paused not taking an eye off Jemma. "I don't deserve you, Jemma. I don't, and I'm well aware. I'm the luckiest man in the universe that you would give me the time of day." Fitz then nodded at Coulson.

"Alright, we need the rings," Coulson said as Mick handed one to Fitz, while Daisy handed the other to Jemma. "Alright I need you to repeat after me," Coulson started.

Mick took his focus off Fitz and Jemma, instead admiring Daisy. Even with her puffy eyes and smeared mascara, she was more beautiful than anything he could imagine. He was surprised to see Daisy look at him and smile haphazardly. His focus returned just in time to see Fitz pull Jemma close, kissing her passionately. Everyone began clapping and cheering them on. Once the two separated, they all started toward the door just in case the room collapsed around them due to the waning FEAR mist.

Mick and Daisy bumped into each other as they headed toward the elevator to meet up with everyone in the dining hall for some cake that Deke found.

 "Hey," Mick said nervously.

"Hi," Daisy smirked.

"I've been thinking," Mick started.

"That's dangerous," Daisy teased only for Mick to roll his eyes.

"I think you should know why I was afraid of Ward and Lincoln," Mick said pushing back his nerves as Daisy looked at him expectantly. "Those two were people you cared greatly about, and I couldn't save them."

"Mick," Daisy frowned.

"I know Ward made his choice, but Lincoln," Mick sighed. "I wished so bad I would've been on that jet. I hated seeing you suffer like that. I hate seeing you hurt, and I try really hard to make sure you don't."

"Mick, you couldn't have changed any of that," Daisy said as Mick looked down. "I don't know that I would've reacted any differently if it would've been you."

"How so?" Mick asked as Daisy shook her head and smiled.

"You mean a lot to me, you goof," Daisy said as he looked her in the eyes. "Sure, I'd still have Lincoln, but I would've lost one of my best friends. Someone I know I can count on to be there for me no matter what's going on."

"Yeah, I'll always be that," Mick said as his heart sank.

"Someone I didn't realize how much I cared about until an LMD took his place," Daisy said catching Mick by surprise. "And then found out that he was trapped in a crazy simulation with my other friends. Someone who risked his life for me time and time again, was willing to train me when I felt like a monster, someone who chased after me when I didn't think I was worth saving, and someone who was willing to be frozen and go to the future for me."

"And I'd do it all again," Mick said, without even thinking about it.

"I know," Daisy smiled leaning her head on him.

"I'd do anything for you," Mick said as Daisy reached up, kissing him.

"Want to see where we go from here?" Daisy asked as Mick couldn't help but smile.

"As long as I'm with you, I'm in," Mick kissed her once more.

"Good," Daisy smiled. "Then we'll go together."
