After I Awakened The System, All The Goddesses Chased Me

Chapter 4:

Chapter 4: Innately Born to Work Constitution:

Zhou Ming woke up, opened his eyes, and reached toward the edge of the bed for his phone.

“Good morning, Zhou Ming.”

Han Mengran had already sent a message early in the morning. Talk about the sun rising from the west.

“Morning.”

He opened his mobile banking app and looked at his balance, feeling instantly at ease.

“Hmm? The money’s still there. Looks like it wasn’t a dream.”

[Ding, new mission issued!]

[Ding, host, please help Jiang Peipei with her work today!]

[Mission reward: 200,000 yuan in cash, and a physical enhancement!]

[Host, keep it up! There’s a surprise coming later!]

Zhou Ming rolled his eyes at the mission prompt.

“System bro, are you trying to train me into the strongest office drone ever? Every other protagonist gets a system and travels the world living it up. Why am I still clocking in every day?”

[Host, please complete the mission as soon as possible!]

[All system missions are issued for a reason!]

Zhou Ming stretched, then did a backflip out of bed.

He washed up quickly, changed into clean clothes, and got ready for work.

“The money I have now isn’t enough for a sports car.”

“I’ll have to settle for a BBA for now to get a little thrill.”

“Alright then! I’ll go pick out a car during lunch break today.”

He grabbed his phone and scanned a shared electric scooter to unlock it.

Soon, he arrived at the company building.

“Morning, Sister Pei.”

Zhou Ming walked into the office and immediately spotted Jiang Peipei, who was busy working. He greeted her with a smile.

Jiang Peipei looked up and saw him.

“Morning, Zhou Ming. You’re in early today.”

Zhou Ming was instantly drawn to her outfit—a black dress that accentuated her curvy figure perfectly.

“Young girls and mature women… there really is a difference.”

He quickly realized he was staring too directly and turned his head away.

Jiang Peipei noticed his gaze. She turned toward him with a teasing smile.

“Zhou Ming, why do you keep staring at me lately?”

Zhou Ming waved his hands in denial. “Ah, no, Sister Pei. I just think your outfit today is very elegant.”

“Is that so? And what do you think of it?”

She was clearly interested in his opinion, and she adjusted the hem of her skirt a bit.

Zhou Ming thought for a moment, then answered seriously, “I think… it’s perfect.”

“Then tell me, who do you think is more attractive—me, or those young girls you usually hang out with?”

Zhou Ming leaned back slightly and scratched his head awkwardly. “Uh… I’m not sure I should say…”

“It’s fine, just tell me your honest opinion.”

Jiang Peipei leaned forward slightly with both hands on the desk, gazing straight into Zhou Ming’s eyes.

Her gaze made Zhou Ming’s heart beat faster.

“I think… you’re more attractive, Sister Pei.”

“Haha, you really know how to talk.”

“Too bad I’m not a little girl. I don’t believe sweet words like that.”

She laughed charmingly, then whispered,

“So… do you want to help me with my work today too?”

Zhou Ming froze, then quickly nodded. “Of course, Sister Pei.”

“Oh? Really?”

“Zhou Ming, did you take the wrong meds? Normally you complain about having too much work.”

“Haha, you’re funny, Sister Pei.”

“I just think… as coworkers, we should help each other out.”

Jiang Peipei looked at Zhou Ming’s serious face, rolled her eyes with a teasing smile, and said softly,

“Forget it. I can handle this bit of work myself.”

Then she turned back around and continued working.

Their brief but suggestive exchange left Zhou Ming’s heart fluttering.

“Sister Pei’s charm is just… irresistible.”

Zhou Ming sighed inwardly and muttered softly to himself.

Ever since gaining the system, he’d found not only his work efficiency skyrocketing, but also his courage growing.

“Ahem.”

A light cough broke the silence in the office. The department manager, Yu Zuolin, walked in slowly.

His sharp eyes swept across the busy employees.

Everyone immediately picked up their pace, afraid of catching his displeasure.

“Hmm, everyone’s working hard. Very good.”

Yu Zuolin nodded with satisfaction and headed into his office.

He loved this feeling of being in charge and admired.

“Sigh, that guy Yu is such a slave driver. With this workload every day, how are we supposed to keep up?”

As soon as Yu Zuolin left, someone began quietly complaining.

“Exactly! He’s always so demanding. Can’t we catch a break?”

The whispers of discontent echoed around the office, but none of it affected Zhou Ming.

“If normal brains are single-core processors, then mine’s a quad-core now! Haha!”

Zhou Ming was smug. His fingers flew across the keyboard at lightning speed, making others gape.

“Zhou Ming, your speed is insane! How do you do it?”

A curious coworker couldn’t help asking. How could the difference between people be this big?

“Because I was born with the Innate Office Worker Constitution.”

Zhou Ming replied casually while continuing to type. Staying low-key was key.

In less than two hours, Zhou Ming had finished all of his tasks efficiently.

Then, shamelessly, he took over Jiang Peipei’s work too—he had no choice, after all. The system required it.

[Ding, mission complete!]

[Mission reward: 200,000 yuan and one physical enhancement!]

[Ding, would you like to optimize your body now?]

[Warning: the enhancement process includes intense pain!]

“Don’t optimize yet.”

“I’ll save it for tonight.”

Although the idea of physical enhancement was tempting, the warning about intense pain was no joke.

Zhou Ming didn’t want to end up writhing in agony at work and attracting a crowd.

He opened his phone and started browsing for cars.

Though he wasn’t a car expert, he knew the basics.

“What kind of car should I get?”

Zhou Ming opened Doule and searched “a young person’s first car.”

A flood of videos appeared instantly. He clicked on one.

“A young person’s first car should be a Lamborghini, of course!”

Yeah, right. How many young people can actually afford a Lamborghini?

He swiped to the next video. This time, it was a classy woman.

“I think a young person’s first car should be in the 500k to 800k range.”

Zhou Ming closed the video.

What nonsense. Why don’t you recommend buying a bullet train while you’re at it?

“I better choose on my own. These people are useless.”

Zhou Ming opened AutoHome, compared various models, and finally found a car he really liked.

It wasn’t a top-tier luxury car, but it looked stylish, had reliable performance, and met all his needs.

And most importantly, it fit perfectly within his budget.

“This is the one.”
