A World Jumper

Chapter 36: Chapter 29 edited

In a dimly lit garage, Alexander counted out stacks of cash as he handed them over to Sam Witwicky in exchange for the glasses.

Sam was surprised someone would pay so much for the glasses and questioned,"This is a lot of money?"

Alexander smiled and said,"There is history in these glasses and,I like collecting things like these."

Sam smiled and nodded.

While Alexander made a silent vow to protect the boy, knowing that without Bumblebee, Sam's chances of survival were slim. So made sure to modify any knowledge about the glasses would lead to him, rather than the boy.

Returning to the garage, Alexander presented the glasses to Bumblebee, who communicated through his radio, his metallic voice echoing, "With the glasses in hand, we just need to wait for Optimus and the other Autobots. They'll be here soon."

As Bumblebee transformed into his sleek car form, when he felt someone was coming.

A figure came from the upstairs and through the garage door. It was John Keller, his face a mix of curiosity and concern. "What's so urgent that you called me here?" he asked, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.

With a solemn nod, Alexander motioned for John to follow him into his study. There, he activated his computer, projecting holographic images and data about the Beagle Rover 2 on Mars.

John's eyes widened in amazement at the advanced technology before him, but his focus quickly shifted to the information displayed. Carefully examining each detail, he muttered, "This is Beagle 2 Rover."

Alexander nodded solemnly, his gaze fixed on John's concerned expression. "Following your directives, I conducted a routine sweep of the White House database," he began, his voice steady despite the gravity of his words. "That's when I stumbled upon a highly classified file labeled Sector Seven."

John's frown deepened as he absorbed the information. "Sector Seven? I've never heard of it," he remarked, his tone laced with suspicion.

"It appears to be a covert government agency," Alexander explained, his fingers dancing across the keyboard as he accessed the file.

A video of the Beagle 2 mission played on the screen, capturing John's attention. His eyes widened in shock as he witnessed the rover's deployment and subsequent disappearance on Mars. "What the hell is that?" he exclaimed, his voice tinged with disbelief.

"It's a robotic being," Alexander confirmed, his expression grim. "I conducted numerous scans, and it took extensive digging to uncover that this event was classified top secret under Sector Seven. The mission was deemed a total failure, with reports indicating the rover went missing."

John's jaw clenched as he processed the revelation. As determination flashed across his face. "Are they aliens?" he inquired, his voice laced with uncertainty.

Alex nodded gravely. "Yes and some of them have found their way to Earth, and they're searching for something," he revealed, his tone serious.

John's expression hardened. "I need to inform the president about this," he declared, his mind already racing with the implications.

"Believe me, he's aware to some extent," Alex responded, his voice tinged with resignation. "But if you bring this up, Sector Seven will clamp down on everything."

"So, what's the plan?" John asked, his gaze flickering between Alex and the screen.

"I've made contact with one of the robots," Alex admitted, his tone measured.

John's eyes widened in shock. "What?"

"I went searching for them," Alex explained, leading John to the garage where Bumblebee awaited. "There are two groups: the Autobots, who are allies, and the Decepticons, who seek world dominance."

As Bumblebee slowly transformed, John struggled to comprehend the scene unfolding before him. "You don't mean us harm?" he questioned, his voice trembling slightly.

"We come in peace, searching for the Allspark," Bumblebee assured him, his voice resonating with sincerity.

As Alex delved into further explanations, John sighed in resignation. "I'm too old for this," he muttered, feeling the weight of the world on his shoulders.

"We need someone we can trust," Alex insisted, his gaze flickering toward John. "And Charlotte isn't an option. I believe she knows more about this than she's letting on."

John's shoulders slumped in defeat. "I'm being left out of all these secrets," he murmured, feeling a pang of isolation.

As if on cue, John's phone rang, interrupting the tense atmosphere. His expression grew serious as he listened intently to the caller. "I'll be right there," he replied, his gaze meeting Alex's with a sense of urgency.

"Our SOCCENT Forward Operations Base in Qatar was attacked," John explained, his voice tense.

Alex and Bee eyed each other, Bee spoke up "It's the Decepticons. They've made their move."

Alex returned John's nod, his expression serious yet determined. "We'll reconvene soon," he affirmed, his voice carrying a sense of solidarity. "And I'll continue my investigation into Sector Seven under the radar."

John offered a firm handshake, his eyes reflecting a mixture of resolve and concern. "Stay safe," he urged, his voice heavy with the weight of responsibility.

"You too," Alex replied, his grip steady. "And keep me updated on any developments."

With a final nod, John turned and hurried out of the room, his mind already racing with plans and strategies to confront the unfolding crisis.

Alone in the dimly lit garage, Alex turned to Bumblebee, a sense of purpose burning in his eyes. "We've got work to do," he stated, his voice unwavering.

Bumblebee nodded in agreement, his robotic features reflecting determination. "We'll stay vigilant," he assured, his voice resonating with loyalty.
