A unique love

Chapter 13: Chapter 13.

It had been two days now that, despite living together, Violet avoided Cameron as if something serious had happened between them or that she avoided any intimate contact with him. But that was without counting on his determination and insight.

There were now two days left before Violet went back to work. That morning, she was installed on the couch and following her favorite series at the same time as she worked on her computer.

Suddenly, Cameron appeared before her and she looked away.

- Hello, I didn't hear you come home. You weren't there this morning when I woke up.

- Ah because you noticed it? He replied ironically. Still happy.

- What do you mean? She asked, keeping her eyes fixed on the TV.

He turned off the screen and sat next to her keeping his eyes on her.

- Why do you look at me like that? She asked, her voice slightly troubled by his gaze.

He got closer to her while continuing to stare at her.

- You really don't know why I'm staring at you like that? You really have no idea why?

- No.... I don't see.

- You've been avoiding me for two days and you've always found excuses not to eat with me.

- I'm just busy.

- Oh really? And yesterday too you were busy when you decided to spend the whole afternoon at Layla's on a whim? You've been like this since I kissed you.

- No, it's wrong.

- Purple. It's time to stop lying to each other. It's already a lot of lies, don't you think?

- I'm not lying to you....well....a little anyway.

- So tell me why at this precise moment you look down?

She sighed and closed her computer before facing him completely. She already knew that she would not be able to avoid this discussion for much longer, so she might as well get started now.

- Good very good. So let me ask you a question.

- I'm listening to you.

- Why did you kiss me?

- Because I wanted it. And you too, otherwise you wouldn't have responded to my kiss.

- I didn't have the courage or strength to push you away. And I remind you that it was you who started.

- Violet, stop lying to yourself, you liked my kiss and that's why you've been doing everything to avoid the subject. But I'm not going to avoid it and I'm going to ask you the question again.

- What?

- You still love me, don't you?

Her gaze was so penetrating and intense that she did not even dare to look away. She has always been an honest woman and even if she was the type to hide her feelings from her....now she couldn't do it anymore and didn't want it anymore.

- Yes. Yes I still love you Cameron but....I haven't forgiven you yet.

- Violet....

- No, let me finish. You were the first man I loved with all my heart and soul. That's why when you left, I was destroyed, my heart broke and it was as if you had left with a part of me especially since I had no news. I know now that it's not totally your fault but that doesn't mean I forgive you now. I will take time to forgive you, I need time and it is not by kissing me that you will help me grant you my forgiveness. On the contrary, you will no longer confuse me and I will no longer know how to act normally with you. Because you know very well what effect you have on me, even angry with you.

- But tell me one thing, even if I don't have your forgiveness yet, we both agree that you answered my kiss, didn't we?

- Yes, she sighed for a moment while closing her eyes, yes I answered but no need to bragh about it, I was in a happy mood. And I just told you....

- Yes I understood Violet. You need time.

- This means that we are not yet in a relationship again.

Yes, I understood it. So are you finally going to stop running away from me?

- Yes....I'm going to stop. And I'm pretty sure even your sister noticed the tension between us.

- She is good at it. By the way, I would very much like you to stop sowing the guards that I put at your disposal for your safety.

- They don't need to watch me when I go to Layla's, right?

- Oh yes. The aggressor can intervene at any time.

- He's in jail.

He got up sighing before giving a little laugh.

- Mia Bella, you knew. Criminals also know how to escape, you know. If you knew the number of dangerous criminals who escaped from prison in a month. You would think about your words.

- Or you can also stay with me every time I go out.

- You know I can't, for two reasons. First, I have a business to manage and I can't let James take care of it all the time under the pretext that he is my right-hand man. And the second, if I stay perpetually with you, I risk cracking and when I say crack, it's more than kissing you. And I know you're not ready to accept that yet.

She blushes up to her ears before getting up and heading to her room with her computer. She turned around for a moment with a small smile.

- Okay, I got it. I will stop sowing them and ignoring them. But please remove at least two.

- Why then? He asked as he finished his glass of whiskey.

- Cam, five is too much. Three is more than enough.

- Very good. Be grateful that it's not me who protects you because otherwise, I'll stick to your skin.

- I know it well and I thank you for this attention.

Suddenly, her phone vibrated and she immediately picked up with a smile on her lips.

- Yes Layla?

- My beautiful, come quickly. I have something to show you, I have to tell you about something very important. Is Cam with you?

The person concerned took the phone from his hands and put it on speaker.

- Hey! Since when do you listen to my conversations on the phone...

- Good morning Kayla. Speak little sister. I am listening to you.

- I prefer not to talk about it on the phone. It's very important and I think it would be better if you were there too.

- Heard, we're coming.

He hung up, gave him his phone and put on his jacket.

- I'm waiting for you in the black car.

- Okay....
