A Rider Kick in Marvel Rewrite

Chapter 42: Chapter 41

The afternoon light filtered through Pole Pole's windows as Ace continued his shift, weaving between tables with practiced efficiency. Customers chatted and sipped their drinks, the café's warm atmosphere buzzing with conversation.

When his break time arrived, Ace slipped into the back room and pulled out his phone. He quickly opened his stock trading app, his eyes scanning the Stark International stock prices. The numbers continued their downward trajectory, just as he had anticipated.

Perfect, he thought.

Ace carefully transferred another chunk of his savings into the trading platform. His fingers moved swiftly, purchasing more shares at the reduced price. Each transaction felt calculated, deliberate. He wasn't gambling—he was strategizing.

The stock was still dropping, which meant more opportunity. Ace continued buying, allocating funds methodically. His savings were gradually converting into Stark International shares, his confidence unwavering.

Ace's phone vibrated in his pocket. He stepped away from the trading app and glanced at the screen. The caller ID showed "Detective Watanabe."

He answered professionally, his tone shifting. "Kamen Rider speaking."

"Kamen Rider," Yuri's voice came through clearly. "Can you meet me soon?"

Ace checked his watch. His shift at Pole Pole was winding down, and Pops would likely let him leave early. "I can meet you," he responded neutrally, careful not to reveal any personal details about his work or location.

"Good," Yuri said. "I'll text you the location."

Ace pocketed his phone and quickly changed out of his café uniform into casual attire—a dark jacket, jeans, and comfortable sneakers. He approached Pops, who was wiping down the café counter.

"I'm heading out," Ace said, adjusting his jacket.

Pops looked up, his expression a mix of concern and trust. "Be careful out there," he said, his voice warm but serious. "These streets aren't always friendly."

Ace nodded, offering a reassuring smile. "I'll be fine," he replied.

He stepped outside the café, the afternoon light casting long shadows across the street. The Trychaser 2000 was parked nearby, its sleek red and black frame gleaming. Ace swung his leg over the motorcycle, inserted the key, and started the engine. The machine roared to life, its sound cutting through the urban background noise.

Checking the location Yuri had sent, Ace revved the engine and pulled out into the street, navigating through New York's bustling traffic with practiced ease.

Ace navigated the Trychaser 2000 through the narrow streets, the motorcycle's engine humming quietly as he approached the designated location. The rooftops of the surrounding buildings loomed ahead, casting long shadows in the late afternoon light. He found a secluded spot near the police precinct and carefully parked the bike.

With practiced movements, he activated the Arcle belt. "Henshin," he muttered, and the transformation into Mighty Form enveloped him. The red and black armor materialized, his helmet gleaming as he surveyed the rooftops.

Sensing a presence, Ace leaped upward with superhuman agility, sailing through the air and landing smoothly on the rooftop. His initial expectation was to find Detective Yuri Watanabe waiting alone.

Instead, he discovered Yuri was not by herself. Standing beside her was Captain George Stacy, who turned to face Ace with a mixture of surprise and cautious curiosity.

Ace landed on the rooftop, his red and black armor gleaming in the afternoon light. His gaze shifted between Yuri and George Stacy, momentarily surprised by the unexpected presence of the police captain.

Yuri turned to Ace with a relieved smile. "I'm glad you could make it," she said, her tone professional yet warm.

Ace had expected to meet Yuri alone, but now found himself facing her superior officer. Sensing the importance of the moment, he remained silent and waited.

"Captain Stacy wanted to meet you," Yuri explained. "Without his support, we wouldn't be able to coordinate with the police department effectively."

George Stacy stepped forward, his weathered face studying the armored warrior. "Do you remember me, Kamen Rider?" he asked, a hint of recognition in his voice.

Ace nodded inside his helmet. He did remember George from their previous encounter during the Rat Grongi incident.

Ace tilted his helmeted head, his voice modulated through the armor. "Why did you call me here?" he asked, his tone direct and slightly wary. "Has another Grongi appeared?"

George Stacy shook his head. "No new incidents," he replied firmly. "But we need your help understanding these creatures."

Yuri stepped forward, her posture professional but her eyes showing genuine concern. "We want to know how to deal with the Grongi," she explained. "Your knowledge could help us protect the city."

Ace's stance shifted, the armor's red and black surfaces catching the light. "That will be difficult," he said, his voice carrying a note of grim reality. "I'm sure you know. The Grongi are unlike anything you've faced before. They're stronger than human opponents, and nearly impervious to regular weapons."

Yuri's eyes narrowed as she considered the implications of Ace's words. "Are you saying, only you can defeat them?" she asked, her tone carrying a mix of skepticism and concern.

"Not necessarily, but if you want to fight against the Grongi. The police will need more than just guns."

George Stacy crossed his arms, his weathered features hardening with resignation. "So, in the meantime. All we can do is rely on you."

The armored warrior turned to face the captain directly. "What is it Captain? Don't like working with a vigilante?" There was a slight edge to his voice, almost teasing despite the serious situation.

George's lips twitched into a small, stern smile. "I can arrest you right now if you'd like." His hand rested casually near his badge, more a reminder than a threat.

"I'd rather you not,"

Yuri leaned forward, her professional curiosity piqued. "Can you tell us more about these Grongi."

"The Grongi have a complex social structure. They regularly meet with each other, which could be our advantage."

Captain Stacy raised an eyebrow. "And how exactly is that helpful?"

"If we can capture or track down one Grongi," Ace continued, "we might be able to find the rest of them. But," he added with a note of caution, "it's easier said than done."

Yuri's detective instincts kicked in. "Why?"

Ace's helmet tilted slightly. "They can transform into humans. Perfectly. They blend into society, hunt their targets, and disappear without a trace." His voice carried the weight of hard-learned experience. "Identifying them isn't as simple as looking for something obviously monstrous. They could be anyone - the person walking down the street, sitting next to you in a café, working in an office."

The implications hung heavy in the air. Captain Stacy and Yuri exchanged a meaningful glance, understanding the complexity of the threat they were facing.

"So we're looking for an enemy that could be anyone," Yuri summarized, her mind already working through the investigative challenges.

Captain George Stacy leaned forward, his weathered hands clasped on the table. "Is there a way to differentiate these Grongi from ordinary humans?"

Ace's armored form shifted slightly. "They have a distinctive animal tattoo somewhere on their body," he explained. The detail was matter-of-fact, devoid of dramatic emphasis.

Detective Yuri Watanabe frowned, considering the information. "That doesn't help much," she said critically. Then, after a moment's reflection, she added, "But it's a start."

Ace nodded, sensing the conversation was drawing to a close. "That's all I can share right now," he said firmly.

Yuri, ever direct, pressed further. "And your identity? Who are you really?"

A moment of silence passed between them. Then Ace responded, his voice calm but resolute. "I prefer to keep that to myself."

He looked around the rooftop, then back at Yuri and Captain Stacy. "I think that's all you wanted to ask. I need to leave."

Without further explanation, Ace jumped off the rooftop. The police officers rushed to the edge, watching as he landed smoothly and quickly mounted the Trychaser 2000. The motorcycle roared to life, and in moments, Ace disappeared into the city streets, leaving Yuri and George Stacy watching his departure.

Captain George Stacy watched Ace disappear into the urban landscape, his weathered hands gripping the rooftop's edge. He turned to Detective Yuri Watanabe, a wry smile crossing his face.

"Quite the guy," Yuri remarked, her professional demeanor softened by a hint of admiration.

George nodded. "Yeah..." He paused, then stepped toward the rooftop access door. Pulling out his radio, he spoke with a commanding tone to the communications officer. "I need to speak with the tactical division immediately. We are going to need additional resources to counter these Grongi threats."

Captain George Stacy turned to Yuri, his experienced eyes scanning the cityscape where Ace had just disappeared. "Watanabe," he said firmly, "I want you to maintain a close connection with that Kamen Rider."

Yuri raised an eyebrow. "Sir?"

"He's our best lead on these Grongi attacks," George continued. "He seems to understand these creatures better than anyone in the department. Your investigative skills and his combat abilities could be a strategic advantage."

She nodded, understanding the implicit instruction. Maintaining professional distance while cultivating a potential informant was something she excelled at. "Yes sir," Yuri confirmed.

George's hand rested on her shoulder, a gesture both supportive and authoritative. "Be careful. These creatures aren't like anything we've encountered before. And that Rider... he's an unknown variable."

Yuri's lips curved into a slight smile. "Unknown variables are my specialty, Captain."
