A Rider Kick in Marvel Rewrite

Chapter 27: Chapter 27

As the credits rolled, Berto leaned back in his seat and burst out laughing. "That was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen!"

Nico wiped tears of laughter from her eyes. "Did you see that scene with the chainsaw and the rubber chicken? Who even writes this stuff?"

Ace chuckled, shaking his head. "I can't believe they managed to make a horror movie this absurd. It was so bad it was actually entertaining."

The three friends stumbled out of the dark theater, still giggling about the most ridiculous moments from the Midnight Chainsaw Massacre. The lobby of the arthouse cinema was nearly empty, with a bored ticket attendant scrolling through his phone and a few other moviegoers looking equally amused and bewildered.

"We have to tell everyone about this," Berto declared, pulling out his phone to type a review. "This movie is so bad it needs to be experienced to be believed."

Nico nodded in agreement, her dark hair falling across her face as she leaned over to see Berto's screen. "Absolutely. It's like a masterclass in how not to make a horror film."

Ace smiled, watching his friends' animated discussion about the movie's most outrageous scenes.

As they exited the theater's dimly lit corridor, Berto turned to his friends with a grin. "I'm starving. Pizza sound good to everyone?"

Ace nodded enthusiastically. "Definitely. I know a great place nearby."

Nico shrugged. "I'm in. As long as we're not getting that weird artisan pizza with kale or something."

Just as they approached the lobby, a sudden commotion erupted from the snack bar. A red-faced customer towered over Oliver, who stood motionless behind the counter. The man's voice rose in angry waves, his hands gesturing wildly.

"Are you even listening to me?!" the customer shouted, slamming his hand on the counter.

Oliver remained completely still, his eyes unfocused and distant. Something about his vacant expression seemed off.

Nico rolled her eyes and muttered sarcastically, "Great. Another entitled jerk making a scene."

The angry customer continued his tirade, his face reddening with each word. Suddenly, Oliver's hand moved mechanically, grabbing a sharp box cutter from behind the concession stand. In one swift, unexpected motion, he plunged the blade into the customer's side.

The man's angry shouts transformed into a horrified gasp. Blood began to spread across his shirt as he staggered backward.

Oliver stood motionless, his eyes blank and unseeing. Under his breath, he kept repeating a single word: "Kill... kill... kill..."

Screams erupted throughout the arthouse cinema lobby. People scrambled in panic, knocking over display stands and pushing each other in their rush to escape.

Ace, Berto, and Nico stood frozen, their eyes wide with shock. The scene before them unfolded like a nightmare - Oliver, typically quiet and reserved, now standing over the bleeding customer with a blank expression and a bloodied box cutter.

The wounded customer collapsed to the floor, clutching his bleeding side. The bored ticket attendant had dropped his phone, mouth hanging open in disbelief.

Oliver continued to mutter, his voice a monotone chant of "kill" that seemed to cut through the chaos of screaming and panic.

As the initial shock subsided, Oliver's blank eyes scanned the lobby. His movements became mechanical, targeting other customers with the blood-stained box cutter. A young woman screamed as Oliver lunged toward her, his arm raised menacingly.

Ace stepped forward, his instincts kicking in. "I have to stop him."

Nico grabbed Ace's arm, her voice sharp and urgent. "Don't do something stupid! You don't know what's happening!"

But Ace was already moving. He approached Oliver cautiously, hands raised in a calming gesture. "Hey, put the cutter down. You don't want to do this."

Oliver showed no sign of hearing Ace. His eyes remained unfocused, a distant buzzing seeming to control his movements. The box cutter trembled in his hand as he turned toward Ace, his body moving with an unnatural, jerky motion.

Without warning, Oliver attacked. He lunged at Ace with surprising speed, the box cutter slashing through the air. Ace quickly shifted, blocking the strike with his forearm. In one fluid motion, he grabbed Oliver's wrist, twisting it to force the weapon from his hand.

Using his training, Ace swept Oliver's legs and pinned him to the ground. Oliver struggled beneath him, still muttering incomprehensible words, his eyes wild and unseeing.

The lobby remained chaotic, with panicked customers scrambling for the exits, leaving behind overturned popcorn machines and scattered movie posters.

Oliver thrashed beneath Ace, his movements erratic and uncontrolled. Despite Ace's firm grip, the young man continued to mutter incoherently, his eyes glazed and distant.

Detective Yuri Watanabe pushed through the panicked crowd, her police badge glinting under the lobby's fluorescent lights. She approached Ace, who was still pinning Oliver to the ground.

"What happened here?" Yuri's voice was sharp and professional.

Ace looked up, his grip on Oliver remaining steady. "He just attacked a customer with a box cutter. Completely unprovoked. One moment he was standing behind the counter, the next he was stabbing someone."

Yuri pulled out her handcuffs, her eyes scanning the scene. "Did you see anything that might explain his behavior?"

"He kept repeating 'kill' over and over," Ace explained. "Like he wasn't in control of himself."

Yuri's eyes narrowed. She'd heard similar reports at the precinct - multiple cases of seemingly random violent outbursts, all with the same description of a strange buzzing sound and uncontrollable impulses.

She efficiently cuffed Oliver, who remained unnervingly calm under her touch. "This matches the other cases we've been investigating," she muttered, more to herself than to Ace.

Ace's ears perked up at Yuri's muttered comment about other cases.

'Other cases?'

He glanced at her, curiosity flickering in his eyes. Before he could ask for clarification, a nervous voice cut through the chaos of the lobby.

"Oh dear, I'm so sorry," the voice said. "I was hoping he would have been more... effective."

Ace turned to see a strange, fidgety creature standing near the edge of the lobby. It was Me·Ivae·Ba, the Fly Grongi, wringing its hands apologetically. Its compound eyes darted around the room, looking simultaneously nervous and disappointed. They couldn't understand him in the Grongi language.

"I'm terribly sorry," Ivae continued, bowing slightly. "The human was supposed to eliminate more targets. La·Balva·De will be so displeased with me." The Grongi's voice trembled, a mix of anxiety and frustration.

Yuri's hand instinctively moved to her weapon, her eyes narrowing at the unexpected newcomer. Ace tensed, recognizing the potential threat from his previous encounters with the Grongi.

Nico and Berto, who had been standing nearby, suddenly froze as they spotted Ivae. Their eyes widened in disbelief at the strange, insect-like creature standing casually in the lobby.

"I'm so sorry," Ivae mumbled, wringing its hands nervously. "The human wasn't very efficient. I'm a bit behind on my killing quota, and La·Balva·De will be so disappointed in me."

Berto whispered to Nico, "What is that thing?"

Nico's voice trembled slightly. "I have no idea, but it doesn't look good."

Detective Yuri Watanabe's professional demeanor shifted instantly. She drew her weapon, pointing it directly at Ivae. "Freeze! Don't move!"

Without hesitation, Yuri began firing. Her bullets struck Ivae's chitinous body, but they barely left a mark. The Grongi flinched more from the noise than from any actual damage.

"Oh dear," Ivae apologized, ducking slightly. "I'm really trying my best. I know I'm behind on my kills, but this is quite inconvenient." Its compound eyes darted nervously around the room.

The creature seemed more concerned about disappointing its superiors than about the bullets flying toward it. "I'm so sorry," it repeated, "but I really must continue my mission. I'll try to be more careful this time."

Yuri continued firing, each shot ineffective against the Grongi's tough exterior. Ivae shifted uncomfortably, looking increasingly anxious about the entire situation.

Ivae's compound eyes suddenly locked onto Yuri. With lightning speed, the Grongi lunged forward, razor-sharp claws extended. Before the detective could react, Ace intercepted, throwing himself between Yuri and the creature.

"Kid!" Yuri shouted, her voice sharp with concern.

Ivae's trajectory shifted instantly. The Grongi's insectoid body twisted mid-air, targeting Ace with terrifying precision. In a blur of movement, Ivae tackled Ace, both of them crashing through the cinema lobby's wall with explosive force.

Plaster and debris scattered as they burst through the wall, tumbling into the adjacent room. Nico and Berto rushed to the gaping hole, their faces etched with worry.

"Ace!" Nico screamed, her voice trembling.

Berto gripped the edge of the broken wall, peering into the darkness beyond. "Are you okay?" he called out, strain evident in his voice.

The dust settled, revealing nothing but shadows and scattered debris where Ace and the Grongi had disappeared.

Ace and Ivae crashed through another interior wall, tumbling into a dark storage room filled with old movie equipment. Ivae's chitinous body scraped against metal film reels and dusty projection stands. With surprising strength, the creature hurled Ace across the room. He slammed into a stack of wooden chairs, sending them clattering to the floor.

"You must die! I'm so sorry about this. I really don't want to, but I have no choice."

Ace struggled to his feet, wiping dust from his face. The Grongi continued speaking, its voice trembling with a strange mix of determination and anxiety.

"I'm really trying my best," Ivae said, wringing its hands. "This is quite difficult for me."

In a swift motion, Ace transformed.

"Henshin!"

The familiar red armor of Kuuga's Mighty Form materialized around him, the golden horn gleaming in the dim light of the storage room.

Ivae's entire demeanor changed instantly. "Kuuga!" the creature exclaimed, its compound eyes widening in recognition and surprise.

The Grongi took an involuntary step back, clearly not expecting the young human to be a Kamen Rider. Its earlier bravado dissolved into a nervous trembling, hands wringing frantically.

"Oh dear," Ivae muttered in its native language, "I'm so sorry. This is not what I expected at all."
