A Magician and Genius in Zombie apocalypse

Chapter 2: Robbing a gas station. 2

3rd person Pov

Gideon and Zephyr eventually reached the gas station and got out but not before asking Cartos and Baron if there was anything threatening around them. Baron checked through the satellites while Cartos wandered around the area in a mile radius, both spotted nothing dangerous but advised to get on their way quickly.

Gideon and Zephyr got out of the car and snatched almost all of the supplies, they saw a couple corpses, but it was nothing, they seemed to all be dead, permanently dead. Continuing on their way, after an hour they arrived in Hunts Point.

"So, which house or really mansion are we picking to stay at?" Zephyr asked Gideon seeing just trees and houses. "Maybe one of the docks? A ship as an escape route could prove pretty good." Zephyr suggested to Gideon.

"That could be a good idea though we're going to need a lot of materials, and the docks might not have every factory near it." Gideon pointed out and Zephyr agreed knowing well just how much materials he needs and that's excluding Gideon.

"We could travel to Canada; we're pretty near it." Zephyr said, "Yes, though the reason I chose this area is because of its low population, then if we move to Canada the population would be way bigger than this little area."

"But aren't we near Canada? And zombies may stay in their area but what if somebody from Canada came here dragging some zombies with em?" Zephyr asked again.

This eventually continued on until with Gideon saying they'll build a wall around themselves, very american like. They picked a mansion to live in, they eliminated the owner of it and then cleared everything out, making sure it was safe. What they found inside may have excited them before the apocalypse but who cares about money anymore?

What they cared about now were materials, and the previous owner had some but not much, though the electronics he had were decent, good enough for Gideon, and for Zephyr the owner had some of the materials he needed for different spell books and rituals.

"Gideon this is actually pretty decent amount of stuff, the food here is amazing, they have tons of DVDs and movies, and the best of all they actually have real games." I said getting on the custom-built pc and then asking Gideon to get his ai to hack into it.

It did and I thanked the ai named Baron, I then got onto steam and purchased all the games I have seen so far, this guy's filthy rich and it's not liked it matters whether or not he's dead and money isn't worth much anymore.

And we have internet thanks to those satellites, Gotta say Gideon knew what he was doing. I waited for my games to finish download and then played for a little bit, the apocalypse isn't so bad, until you wonder what happened to your family...

Exploring more of the mansion and hacking into its security system it seems like a perfect area to live in, security is decent but can be improved, tons of room and multiple levels about two, and a basement as big as the house. And in the basement, there's a wine cellar with temperature control, bar, and a couch, bean bag, plus a king-sized bed from the looks of it.

This basement is bigger and better than most houses. exploring the basement however is where I found all of the goodies, although it was just collector's junk that might serve some use to Zephyr, I found something I could use.

Turns out this guy seemed to be some kind of scientist as he had like a lab, though what was he experimenting on is the question? A question I don't have time to answer, so I put the lab on hold and asked Baron on what I could do to increase my survival for me.

[The one thing to increase your survival is to not be on the planet.] Baron responded to my question, I responded with {Baron where in the world would I even get the materials for a spaceship or a space station?} [An energy source such as nuclear level or solar and parts from rockets. Or you could make it yourself.]

{Next idea please.} [An exosuit, it would increase your survival drastically and with more improvements could even make you invincible.] Okay this is looking better, {What are the materials needed?} [A strong alloy or metal, circuits, neural interface, a battery, and more. For the parts you need to make are the Frame, Actuator, and more. I will provide a list for you.]

Noting the materials I need I decide to get Zephyr and see if he wants to come for more materials...

Zephyr Pov

After getting off the game I decided I needed something more than just increasing my luck, so I asked Cartos if there are any other things at the moment that can help me combat wise, he had quite a bit.

Skipping most of them I decided I would go for the Lunar Blessing ritual and the Spirit Warrior's Dance. What they do you may ask? Lunar Blessing allows me to use lunar energy, allowing me to create allusions, heal allies, and channel lunar energy into energy attacks. Spirit Warrior makes me stronger, enhanced combat skills, heightened senses, and the guidance from my ancestors.

One that makes me stronger and one that allows me to use magic offensively, now I would be going for Spirit Warrior first, meaning I need:

Sacred Drum: To provide the rhythmic heartbeat of the dance, connecting with ancestral spirits.

Feathers: Symbolizing freedom and the connection to the spirit world, worn as adornments.

Totemic Symbols: Personal or tribal symbols representing strength, protection, and ancestral guidance.

Ancestral Relic: An item passed down through generations, imbued with spiritual significance.

War Paint: Natural pigments for painting protective and empowering symbols on the skin.

Ritual Attire: Traditional garments or warrior attire that honor the ancestors and the spirit of the dance.

Sacred Space: An open area designated for the dance, possibly marked with stones or boundaries.

Invocation Script: Words or chants that call upon the ancestors and invite their presence and guidance.

Now I don't have most of these on me, but I can cross off Invocation script, Totemic symbols, sacred space, and feathers. How the hell am I going to get a sacred drum? What counts as a sacred drum? Can the paint just be regular paint for skin or...

"Zephyr, do you want to join me in getting supplies?" Gideon says to me opening the door, "Yeah, I need some stuff, you think they have any sacred drums around here?" Gideon in response to my question just looks at me funny then signals me to follow him.

We walk to the truck and then drive around the neighborhood robbing the mansions while also visiting the stores we needed. We ran into a couple of zombies, but we made quick work of them, either with nails or my bat.

Thankfully our clothes didn't get too messy with blood. I was then jolted out of my stupor when we make it to the instrument store, this was the last on the list. I already gotten the paint, ritual attire from a costume store, a totemic symbol which is my necklace, and it's passed down through my family.

Getting out of the vehicle I open the door to the store and quickly take the drums, I have no idea which type of drum counts as sacred so might as well take both. Getting back into the vehicle we ran into a bit of a problem.

Other people, we had Baron quickly scan these guys and turns out they're not so good people, like really not so good people... One of them is a murder while the other two raped somebody, so Gideon thinking like the reasonable person told me to avoid them, but he promised to make sure to get Baron tracking them.

I wanted to sneak up on them, smash their skulls in, and get Gideon to shoot the remaining ones in the head while they become zombie food.

There's five people in total though I don't know if I'll have a chance to kill them... I just decided to go with Gideon's plan and avoid them.

Baron calculated a plan to sneakily get out of there and now we're currently driving home, I summon Cartos and tell him we are doing the ritual at dawn tomorrow. Mainly because it's required to.

Anyway I'm going to bed after this....

Gideon Pov

We got home and Zephyr immediately went to his bedroom, still lazy as hell even in the apocalypse. {Baron, since we can't build the Mark 0 yet can we at least build a better weapon with the material I acquired?} [Sir, you can build a plethora of weapons, I would recommend a long ranged one. Since you collected multiple solar panels, we could build a wrist mounted laser gun.]

{Add that to the weapons of the Mark 0, we still need more metal?} [Yes.] Okay, can't have power armor but can have a laser weapon, and that's good enough for me.

I went back to the basement with the lab, but it couldn't really provide any use still besides a microscope I used to make the circuits. I hated the circuits so much, they took way too much time than I would've liked to spent on them.

I finished the wires, the miniature solar panel, the battery, which is made out of Aluminum surprisingly, and everything else just those stupid circuits. Then I slammed my head into the wall after learning that I made too many circuits and that the first one I made would have work, I made a quarter of a pound of circuits, it could have taken me less than a fifth of that amount of circuits.

Reeling from the pain of slamming my head into the wall I then felt it, there was something behind that wall, extremely hard and cold.

I hit my head hard enough I broke the fake wooden wall that opened up into a vault, something that even Baron didn't detect mainly due to the fact that I just asked him to scan for less than 1 minute.

Stupid I know now, inside was just more money but the real valuables were the gold and potential steel from the walls. Now how do I get it?
