A Different Smallville

Chapter 113: Chapter 113

"I lost." Leonardo said mostly to himself.

Leonardo fist just struck air as he was about to punch Doomsday who just vanished in a purple light. Which made him feel at a loss since when he was about to get an upper hand in his fight as he prepared to finish off Doomsday. The beast that gave him a beating ran away before they could finish the fight.

"Better, yet when did Doomsday be able to teleport?" Leonardo clenched his fist since he didn't know where it went.

Turning his head, Leonardo tried his best to find where Doomsday he was fighting teleported too. Which should be easy since wherever it went, death and destruction wasn't far behind. However, Leonardo frowned as he didn't find it and besides Clark who was fighting the other one.

"It did teleport right?" Leonardo began to look confused.

--

"Clark, you did great." Leonardo clapped his hands happily.

Sitting before Leonardo was Clark who was beaten very heavily. Truth be told it is probably worse then what Leonardo endured. So despite the strangeness that happened, Leonardo felt like he managed to come out on top of these two Doomsday. Even if he felt like he took on a stronger Doomsday since Clark's didn't shrug off the heat vision like that one did.

"Great, look at all the destruction." Clark grumbled.

"Yeah, but you made me feel better since you're in a worse state than I am. So even if the destruction is a bit big and few that were unfortunate. Seeing your battered state made me feel better." Leonardo nodded.

"Leo!" Clark looked annoyed. "It's not nice to make fun of the dead."

"Bah! Clark I think you're overthinking or a bit narrow minded. We can't save everyone and there will always be accidents." Leonardo sighed. "I seem to have told you that dwelling on past mistakes or punishing yourself for things outside of your control isn't helpful. I seem to remember Chloe saying something about how you've been broody over something lately and even Oliver is affected."

"He is always upbeat like nothing can get him down." Clark stood up and said.

"Just because he appears so, doesn't mean he is, Clark. While I may contact him here and there since Chloe gave him my number. He looks towards you as a sort of role model when he questions what to do as a hero." Leonardo stated.

"I don't know what I am doing half the time." Clark grumbled.

"Well, at least you know." Leonardo laughed.

"Still, Clark, why don't we have a barbecue this weekend. Invite Oliver and his gang for a day of fun. You know, relax from the stress and all that. Heroes need to rest also." Leonardo said as a whim.

"Where are we holding it?" Clark sighed.

"The farm of course." Leonardo puffed his chest out, but in his last sentence he began to draw circles in the ground.. "I want to hang out with Sheldon after all. He doesn't seem to like me very much."

Clark just gave him a board look, which Leonardo took as a sign to stand up. So, popping to his feet, Leonardo just began to smile once more.

"You met him only a few hours ago." Clark stated. "It would be strange if he took to you so quickly."

--

After returning to the farm and dressing back into their normal clothes and glasses. Leonardo sat out on the porch staring off into the distance. Both Sheldon and Liz return to their house while Clark is off to help rebuild the city and try to track Lois down.

It had come to their attention that Lois vanished and Clark was up in a ditzy due to the news. Now he is trying to track her down and rescue her if needed. However, besides following her scent to the top of the Daily Planet, Clark didn't know where she went. It was like she just vanished from that spot and no matter the method, Clark couldn't find her.

"You know, maybe it's time to try out Gold Mining."

"That is random." Aurora came out with a coffee cup.

"Well, it's been a few years since the show began. The entire reason I set it up…to mine gold at least once?" Leonardo said.

"Didn't you hire miners to do that for you?" Aurora asked.

"Of course." Leonardo nodded. "Between my art, books, and all the other whims I have that made money. I sort of lost track of my bank account with the numbers inside. Besides since years ago, I haven't really done much to make money as the goal. However, why should that stop me from going out to mine?"

Aurora just laughed at this, before she leaned on the railing and decided to change the topic. Since even Leonardo could tell this isn't what she wanted to talk about. It was more of an opening.

"So what is it you want to ask?" Leonardo asked.

"What are you going to do about Liz? She is a human and will be gone in a few decades." Aurora asked.

"Well, I can do a lot, but that is up to her. It will hurt when she goes, but that life. So I guess I will just remember the good times." Leonardo shrugged. "That is if she stays with me until that time."

"As long as you're aware." Aurora nodded.

'Is she trying to tell me something I told Clark years ago?' Leonardo thought.

"Since I can remember, my mother and uncle have been teaching me such things. Due to being a half angel, I won't die unless I am killed." Aurora explained. "So now I know you are similar, I just want you to know Liz may just be a blink in your life."

"I'm afraid it's just not limited to Liz." Leonardo relied vaguely.

After saying that, Leonardo just looked up at the sky as he looked at the moon in the sky. The vision he saw back then entered his mind. Upon recalling the two backs of himself and Clark as they stood on Earth as it was sucked into the sun and slowly turning around. Leonardo also remembers seeing three figures in space.

--

Weeks soon flashed by in a blink, where Leonardo basically rushed between filming and Smallville. For when he got a chance and not to interrupt Sheldon routine nor annoy Liz too much with his consent appearing and disappearing, he would be there. For the longer Leonardo spent by Sheldon's side, he began to notice a sad thing.

Sheldon didn't fully inherit his abilities.

While Sheldon does absorb sunlight, besides a small passive that stays inside, the rest disperses from his body. This allows Sheldon to be a bit stronger than a human and basically allows him to tap in the basic level of super intelligence. Unless this changes as he grows older, Sheldon will probably only be around for a few centuries.

The Kryptonian genes seem to be recessive as his human one is the dominant one and from what he knows from the database and little data of half kryptonians. Children of half kryptonian don't get closer to full blooded ones if their kryptonian DNA isn't the dominant one.

Which Leonardo would be lying if this didn't hurt him a bit the more this is confirmed.

"Ma, says eating candy this late isn't good for one's health." Sheldon said as they were star gazing.

"I will sneak you one if you won't tell." Leonardo gave a bribe.

"Deal, Pa." Sheldon held out his hand and made Leonardo smile.

This was the first time he was called dad by him and it felt like he was on cloud nine.
