A Different Doraemon World

Chapter 5: Përjetësia

Nobita staggered, his body trembling violently, unable to believe what he was hearing: "Did you really approach me with a different purpose?"

No one can bear being deceived by a good friend, especially when it's Doraemon, the one Nobita trusted most.

Doraemon still kept his head lowered: "I'm sorry, I didn't intend to deceive you. I've always considered you my best friend. This is true, there's no lie. I wanted to tell you the truth, but it's very hard to accept. If you knew the truth, it would be even harder for you to trust me... I... I'm not from the future, I'm from another planet, a planet called Përjetësia!"

Nobita opened his mouth wide, unable to speak.

Doraemon continued: "I'm an envoy sent to Earth on a mission to investigate its inhabitants. That's why I chose you, the greatest scientist on Earth. I traveled back to your childhood, and in order to gain your trust, I lied to you, saying that I was from the future."

"Are you really an alien?" Nobita asked bitterly.

Doraemon nodded: "Përjetësia, in human language, means immortality or eternity. Our planet has technology far beyond what humans can even imagine. The gadgets I gave you are inventions from Përjetësia, technologies that even in hunders years humans won't be able to create. Take the time machine, for example. On my planet, it's an everyday object, but here on Earth, it's something impossible. That's why, when I discovered there were humans in the time tunnel, I was so shocked."

Nobita had no idea how to respond. He just sat there, feeling powerless.

His mind was a whirlwind. He didn't want to believe it, but he couldn't deny it either. Yet something still felt wrong. Doraemon's explanation had too many holes, and it seemed like he was hiding something. But Nobita's head was a mess, and he couldn't even bring himself to question it.

Doraemon sighed and was about to say something else when he suddenly felt danger. He was forcefully thrown to the ground, and countless green energy ropes appeared, binding him.

"Doraemon!" Nobita shouted in panic. Doraemon's face darkened as he looked behind him—Kelly and Karen had regained consciousness, and it was Karen who had attacked Doraemon. There was no doubt that the tranquilizer and truth-telling drug had worn off. Doraemon had forgotten to check the effects of the drugs because he was distracted by Nobita's situation.

"How dare you attack us in the time tunnel, you damn first-generation robot!" Karen pressed Doraemon down, grinding her teeth as she spoke.

Kelly walked over to Nobita, fixing her hair and smiling. "Meeting Father like this... Well, I hope you'll cooperate, Father. I won't harm you if you listen to me. After all, my plan needs your cooperation..."

Before Kelly could finish, Nobita leaped up from the ground, revealing the champion gloves he was wearing. Nobita spun in mid-air and threw a punch into Kelly's stomach. Kelly didn't have time to react and was knocked back by the punch, sent flying a distance due to the strength of the champion gloves.

"This is the champion gloves. If you don't want to get hurt, you should release Doraemon now," Nobita panted, then turned to Karen and warned, "Hurry up! Let him go!" But Karen ignored him, still sitting on top of Doraemon, watching Nobita with interest. Kelly, meanwhile, had gotten up, brushing the dust off herself as though nothing had happened.

"How..." Before Nobita could question it, Doraemon spoke up. "They have a protective force field around them. The champion gloves alone won't be enough." Doraemon had known this when he subdued them earlier, but due to his panic, he hadn't bothered to deactivate their force field or check if they were carrying any weapons.

"Such a mistake," Doraemon muttered.

"Anyway, I must say, you're truly a amazing, Father." Karen clapped her hands. "I thought Connie and Rim had turned you into a useless person, but you still managed to create some interesting toys, and even made an early version of ITR (independent-thinking robot)."

"Yeah, it's really impressive, but Father, we're from 500 years in the future. What we can do, you can't even imagine." Kelly smirked. "I know it's hard to believe, but we are from 500 years in the future, and you are an essential part of our plan..."

"Your plan will fail." Kelly was interrupted again, this time by Doraemon.

"Shut up, you old robot!" Karen pressed Doraemon's head back to the ground.

"Your plan has been exposed. Nobita won't let you carry out your scheme. There will be no independent-thinking robots in the future. Nobita won't let the day of destruction come!" Doraemon shouted loudly, unfazed by Karen's force.

"That's right. I, Nobi Nobita, will not create independent-thinking robots, and I won't let the tragic in future happen!" Nobita declared firmly.

His tone was resolute, and Kelly was momentarily stunned, but then she burst out laughing.

Hearing her laugh, Doraemon asked in surprise, "What's so funny? I'm sure that if Nobita says he can do it, he will. Your plan will definitely fail."

"Although I don't know how a first-generation robot like you knows our plan, it no longer matters. I've come up with something better. The so-called savior plan is troublesome and prone to setbacks… so we'll just make it more direct."

"More direct?" Doraemon and Nobita were confused.

Kelly turned to Nobita and said smugly, "Father, as I said, I'm from 500 years in the future. The technological gap between us is 500 years. Do you know what that means?"

Nobita suddenly froze. It seemed like he had started to guess what Kelly's new plan might be.
