Chapter 281 - 281 Going to Kyoto_1

Chapter 281: Chapter 281 Going to Kyoto_1

There weren’t many who attended university at such a young age.

After a three-day and four-night train journey, they finally arrived in Kyoto.

As soon as they got off the train, they were carrying bags of all sizes, ready to head to Kyoto University.

“Kyoto is really big.” Old Zhao sighed, much larger than their small town.

Meng Yunhan just smiled and passed. Kyoto now wasn’t even that big. After a few decades, it would be even larger. Now it was just like a small county.

“Dad, we’re going to find a house in Kyoto University.”

...

Once they had settled down, they would call the troops to inform them.

On New Year’s Eve, she returned from the village and went to the post office to call the troops, which also allowed her to speak a few words with Yun Hao.

They hadn’t seen each other for a month or two now, and she missed him.

Meng Yunhan had no objections, Old Zhao carried their clothes, while she carried Little Huzi, with both hands carrying things as well.

“Dad, let’s take the bus!” During this time, there were probably only a few cities with public transportation.

“Sure.” Old Zhao had no objections. He could manage to carry these things and walk, but his daughter was carrying Little Huzi and also carrying things. How far could she go?

Little Huzi had grown up, clothed, he weighed almost twenty pounds now.

On the train, Meng Yunhan had bought a bag of wheat and eggs, and a bottle, their son was almost eight months old, and was not getting enough from breastfeeding alone anymore.

The bottle was bought in the county city, and required industrial coupons.

After waiting for a while, they finally saw the bus. The fare was ten cents, Old Zhao felt a little distressed, this ten cents could buy several eggs.

When their stop was announced, Meng Yunhan and Old Zhao picked up their stuff and got off the bus.

“Dad, let’s first find an inn where we can leave these things, have something to eat, and ask others whether there are places to rent nearby.”

They couldn’t just wander aimlessly.

“Alright, as per your suggestion.” The days of train travel had taken a toll on Old Zhao’s energy. If his daughter hadn’t given him something to boost his energy, he would’ve already given in. Being up in age, there was no denying aging!

Meng Yunhan found an inn nearby and booked two rooms. Fortunately, they had a notice of enrollment and an introduction letter from their town which enabled them to get two rooms.

They ordered two dishes and some steamed buns at the inn, and the three generations of the family began to eat together.

Little Huzi was able to slowly eat pieces of steamed buns now, holding and nibbling at the bun in his small hands, which melted the hearts of some people.

“He must be nearly one-year-old now?”

“He’s eight months old, he takes after his father, growing robust.”

At this time, having a well-fed child was a matter of great pride.

After all, at this time, some people were still unable to eat their fill, and food for the year was calculated very strictly.

“Miss, may I ask if there are any places to rent around here?” Meng Yunhan asked with a smile.

“You’re looking for a place to rent?”

Meng Yunhan looked at Little Huzi, and nodded, “Yes, we want to rent a house. The child is still young, and I worry about leaving my father alone at home, so I brought them with me to university.”

This woman was helpful, “There are some in that alley, you can go inquire.”

“Thank you, miss.”

The woman also saw Meng Yunhan had been admitted to Kyoto University, and her child was adorable, fair and plump, like the lucky dolls on TV.

At this time, those who had TVs at home were either rich or working, because TV tickets were not easy to come by!
