Chapter 15 - Garp’s Scar! Three Years Later, King Luffy!

Chapter 15: Garp’s Scar! Three Years Later, King Luffy!

Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, a month had passed. Ace was once again dropped off at Dadan’s house by Garp.

“Ace!”

The moment the door swung open, Dadan’s face lit up in excitement but she quickly covered it up with a cough.

“Ahem, you little brat, back already? What a nuisance.”

Her words did not match the warmth in her eyes.

Cough.

A sudden cough from Garp made Dadan stiffen immediately.

“C-Captain Garp, sir! Y-You’re here too? Would you like something to eat?” She grinned nervously, eager to please. “No need. I have matters to attend to. Anyway, I’m leaving Ace in your care.” Garp spoke firmly.

“N-No problem—huh?”

Just as she was about to agree, she suddenly paused, “Garp, sir… what happened to your face?” She stared curiously at his right cheek, where a noticeable burn mark remained. “Hmm?” Garp’s eyes narrowed slightly.

“O-Oh, my mistake! There’s no way Captain Garp would get injured, hahaha!” Dadan forced a laugh, trying to smooth things over. “Ace, next time I’m on leave, I’ll come back to train you again. Remember— You must become an outstanding Marine.”

Leaving behind his final words of guidance, Garp vanished in an instant. “Dadan! Start the feast!” Ace grinned as he watched Garp leave, his eyes full of mischief.

On Garp’s Warship…

Garp had already returned to his warship, sailing toward Marine Headquarters. He stood silently on the deck, his fingers tracing the burn mark on his right cheek.

“So this… is the true power of the Mera Mera no Mi?”

His mind drifted back to the final day of training, the infernal blade of fire that had erupted before him. That attack had exceeded Ace’s natural limits entirely. Even though Garp had been carefully controlling his strength with Observation Haki to guide Ace, he had still been left with this burn. “Its destructive force… is even more terrifying than Sakazuki’s Magma Fruit at the same stage… This is unreal.”

Garp felt as though he had stepped into a world of absurdity. The Magu Magu no Mi was officially recorded as the most offensive Devil Fruit in the Logia class— A power that could burn even flames. It was widely considered an upgrade over the Mera Mera no Mi. And yet, Ace’s fire had surpassed Sakazuki’s magma.

A terrifying thought crossed Garp’s mind—

If Ace possessed the same level of raw strength as Sakazuki, then the Magma Fruit’s power would collapse in the face of that one attack.

Such an event had never happened before in the history of the seas.

“With power like this, you should be able to survive anything, Ace.”

Garp gazed at the vast ocean, a rare, genuine smile appearing on his face.

Three Years Later…

Time flew once again. Ace was now ten years old. In those three years, he had encountered Sabo at Grey Terminal— And had begun his “fundraising” efforts. Though his rate of growth wasn’t as rapid as during Garp’s training, he was still steadily improving.

With Complete Absorption and Battle Hibernation fueling him, Ace’s progression was unstoppable. Thanks to his unparalleled comprehension, Ace had a solid grasp of his own abilities.

Physically, he was roughly on par with a Marine Headquarters Captain. Of course, as a Logia user, he was naturally invulnerable to most attacks unless his opponent had Haki. But Ace’s greatest edge was his mastery of Conqueror’s Haki Infusion. With techniques like Flame Commandment: Fall into the Depths and Ittō Kasō, even if he was up against a Vice Admiral, he could still land a fatal strike if they weren’t careful. At this point, even in the Grand Line, Ace was no longer an unknown name.

Today, Garp had brought another child to Dadan’s house.

“Dadan, this is my grandson.

Raise him well too, hahaha!”

Garp casually tossed a seven-year-old boy forward, grinning as he spoke. “W-What?! Are you kidding me?! This isn’t some daycare! I refuse!” Dadan’s frustration exploded.

“Hmm? You’d rather spend the rest of your life in Impel Down?” Garp narrowed his eyes, his overwhelming presence suffocating the air. “Y-Yes! Understood! I will raise him!” Dadan immediately folded, accepting her fate. Garp always knew who to pressure.

[Impel Down (インペルダウン, Inperu Daun) – The World Government’s high-security underwater prison, known as the Hell of the Sea.]

“Ace, make sure you get along with him.”

Garp turned, his gaze shifting toward a large tree nearby where Ace was sitting casually, watching the scene unfold.

“Monkey D. Luffy, huh?”

Ace narrowed his eyes, staring at the boy in Garp’s grasp. The future protagonist of the One Piece world— The boy who had already eaten the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika—

King Luffy.
