My Gun Can Pierce Through Hunter Story Clichés!

Chapter 16 - Going to the Tiger's Den

Research has a characteristic.

It’s extremely difficult to create something that doesn’t exist, but reproducing something that already exists isn’t particularly challenging.

Therefore, the Oink-oink Gun that took 15 days to make the first time took less than a day for the second one.

So now there were two Oink-oink Guns!

“Hehe, I’ve completed them oink oink.”

The oink suffix at the end doubled as well.

“But I’m getting extremely hungry oink oink.”

The rate at which he got hungry seemed to have doubled too.

Anyway, he had created new weapons, and it was time to resume hunting after a brief rest.

‘Let’s deal with these first.’

Han-wol looked at hundreds of 3-Star magic handguns scattered around his room.

As he grinned.

‘All of those will turn into money.’

Han-wol was heading to the Seoul Village West Vigilante Office.

The reason, of course, was to sell the magic handguns he had finished mass-producing yesterday.

With about 500 3-Star grade weapons, he could receive at least 500 million won if they all sold.

“We’ve arrived.”

“Here’s 40 silver.”

He got out of the taxi without waiting for change.

Monsters appeared beyond this point, so taxis couldn’t go any further.

After passing through the main road and reaching the path.

He came to a fork in the road.

The left path led to Seoul Village West, and the right path would take him to the Tiger’s Den.

‘There’s no need to go back and forth twice.
Should I go hunting first?’

It would be a slightly longer route, but they would eventually meet at the end.

Having made up his mind, Han-wol immediately headed to the Tiger’s Den entrance.

There, he saw a familiar face.

“Working hard.”

Han-wol greeted the Tiger’s Den NPC with a slight nod.

“Ah, Master! Have you been well? You haven’t visited much recently.”

The Tiger’s Den gatekeeper welcomed Han-wol as if greeting a superior.

“I’ve been busy lately.
But isn’t it better for you when I don’t come?”

“Oh my. How could you say that?
Actually, my body feels stiff when I don’t get hit.”

The gatekeeper replied with feigned shamelessness, and Han-wol responded in kind.

The way they conversed resembled a friendly relationship between a superior and subordinate.

“Aren’t we doing a mock battle today?”

[Daily quest generated.]

[Title: Training with Seoul Village West Vigilante Corps.]

[Description: Han-wol, who has been entrusted with regular military supplies to the vigilante corps.
As a condition, he became responsible for training the vigilante members.
Times cleared so far: 17 times.]

[Quest Rank: Rare]

[Objective: Train vigilante members who are unfamiliar with firearms.]

[Reward: Favorability with vigilante members and moderate experience points]

For reference, “mock battle” referred to simulated combat between Han-wol and the vigilante members.

Han-wol decided to postpone it for now, not knowing how his schedule would unfold.

“I will be stopping by the office later, but I’m not sure how things will go.”

“Then we’ll train by ourselves today.”

“Yeah. I’ll help if I have time.”

[Quest has been postponed.]

“Are you hunting tigers now?”

The gatekeeper asked Han-wol as he was heading toward the portal.

“Yeah. My rank went up to 2-Star two weeks ago.”

“What? Oh my, what a joke.”

The gatekeeper didn’t seem to believe it.

After all, the gatekeeper himself was 3-Star, so how could Han-wol, who was 1-Star two weeks ago, have advanced so quickly?

“No, it’s true.”

But Han-wol insisted it was true.

“R-really?”

“Yeah. Really.”

“…So you’ve been facing us as a 1-Star all this time?”

“Yeah.”

“……..”

The gatekeeper’s jaw dropped in astonishment.

‘No, for someone like him, such things aren’t particularly important.’

The Tiger’s Den gatekeeper recalled when he first met Han-wol.

Following orders from superiors, they had changed their weapons to magic handguns and received training from a foreigner named Han-wol.

The training Han-wol proposed was simple.

“I’ll kindly teach you how to use guns later, but first, let’s establish the hierarchy.”

An absurd one-against-many fight: Han-wol alone against all the vigilante members.

At first, he said they needed to clearly establish the hierarchy and told them to come at him.

Initially, they thought this foreigner was crazy.

They had heard he killed 3,000 white pigs in a day, but they dismissed it as an exaggerated rumor.

Even if it were true, they thought it was merely due to the power of the ‘magic handguns’ he created.

But after the mock battle.

They realized they had made a ridiculous misconception.

Within less than a minute after the fight began, the situation had become chaotic.

They had already expected the battle to be messy.

However.

“Huh?”

Amidst the chaotic battle where all kinds of attacks were flying around, that man was walking.

After Han-wol glanced around once.

He took a step forward.

Immediately afterward, our wooden spears only sliced through the air.

Han-wol was standing squarely in the blind spot of the numerous trajectories formed by the wooden spears.

“Aah!” “Where are you looking when you swing!” “You’re the one who’s not looking!”

By the time we had already launched our attacks.

He had slightly moved to the side.

Our attacks couldn’t reach him and only hit the air or our comrades.

And so, after thirty minutes.

That man was leisurely walking without even breaking a sweat.

“At least you guys have perseverance.
Before, you would collapse after 15 minutes.
Here, take a magic handgun.
It’s time to learn how to use a gun.”

Han-wol came forward and ordered us to come and take one by one.

But we were just pathetically sprawled out with swollen bodies.

“H-how… how did you do that?”

So I asked.

“Huh? What?”

“That movement… it’s not something humans can imitate! How did you do it?! Master!”

The gatekeeper asked urgently, getting excited alone.

“I wonder.”

Han-wol was distributing magic handguns one by one to the fallen vigilante members.

Then, hearing the gatekeeper’s words, he took out another magic handgun as if to give it to him, and suddenly raised his hand as if about to strike.

“Eek!?”

The gatekeeper momentarily cowered, tightly shutting his eyes and covering his head with his hands.

Then he opened his eyes.

Han-wol had already lowered his hand and was smirking as if finding it amusing.

Han-wol asked the gatekeeper.

“Why did you flinch?”

“When you suddenly raised your hand, of course I would!”

“Okay. So you predicted I was going to hit you when you saw me raise my hand? Right?”

“W-what?”

The gatekeeper was at a loss for words at such an obvious statement.

But Han-wol continued without caring.

“Am I right or not?”

“You are. But why…”

“Then what?”

“Pardon?”

“What did you do when you flinched?”

“I… I closed my eyes tightly and tried to block.”

“Yes. It’s similar.”

Han-wol ended the conversation there and handed the magic handgun to him.

“Wait, wait, Master! I really don’t understand what you’re saying!”

Han-wol scratched his head as if annoyed, without even turning around.

And shortly after, Han-wol finally spoke.

In a low voice.

“Seeing the opponent’s movements, being in a safe place in advance, that’s all I did.”

“What do you mean…”

“So I just acted in advance based on reactions.
Just like how you raised your guard when you saw me raise my hand.”

“……..”

Han-wol’s back grew increasingly distant.

Then, suddenly, Han-wol turned around and posed a question.

“What’s 6,784,123 multiplied by 5,123,697?”

Han-wol asked as if he were casually asking a multiplication table question.

But the gatekeeper couldn’t even properly understand the first number and just stood there dumbfounded.

“One, two, three. Okay, time’s up.
The answer is 34,759,790,662,731.
If you don’t even have this level of calculation ability, there’s no point in teaching you because you won’t be able to follow, so just forget it.”

That’s when I realized.

The person before us was a being of an entirely different dimension.

Regardless of how the Tiger’s Den gatekeeper thought of him, Han-wol was extremely busy.

“Hey, hey. Why are you suddenly spacing out?”

“No, I was just so surprised…”

The gatekeeper slightly lowered his head, saying he was embarrassed.

Looking at the gatekeeper, Han-wol smirked and was about to leave.

“Well, don’t be too discouraged just because you got beaten by me when I was 1-Star.
I’m originally good at defeating those stronger than me.”

“Ah, yes…”

Rather than being discouraged, the gatekeeper had an expression like someone who had encountered something beyond comprehension and lost their senses.

In a way, it was a natural outcome for Han-wol to be this strong regardless of his level.

First, thinking about the Earth before the regression made it clear.

Before the regression, in the world where Han-wol lived, humans were no different from the bottom of the ecosystem.

But Han-wol survived until the end in battles against monsters while maintaining a human body.

The numerous magic weapons Han-wol created were just one of his many talents.

If Han-wol had survived solely due to his weapons, Earth wouldn’t have been destroyed in the first place.

“Then I’m going hunting.”

“Yes, yes. Take care of yourself.”

Han-wol ended the conversation appropriately and was about to move into the portal.

“Ah.”

Just then, he suddenly remembered something he had forgotten.

So he turned his feet back toward the gatekeeper.
