Chapter 297: Chapter 298
Shu! Shu! Shu!
Over a dozen Flying Thunder God kunai shot toward Madara.
Having just sent several Kage flying, Madara's Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan flickered as he tilted his head slightly, letting the kunai pass harmlessly by.
One… two… three… four…
The sharp whistling of the kunai cutting through the air filled the battlefield as they sailed past.
Just as one kunai—positioned at the rear of the group—passed through Madara's blind spot, something unexpected happened.
Shing!
Tobirama appeared in an instant, his blade slicing toward Madara's waist.
Flying Thunder God Slash!
Madara, as if anticipating this, sidestepped coldly, his right hand striking out to grab Tobirama before he could escape.
But Tobirama disappeared again.
Madara turned his gaze, noticing Tobirama reappearing beside Retto about twenty meters away.
The soft clinks of the kunai hitting the ground echoed as they landed behind Madara.
Contrary to Madara's expectations, Tobirama didn't teleport behind him again.
With a cold snort, Madara withdrew the countermeasure he had prepared, ready to speak—
Suddenly!
A strong arm locked around his neck, squeezing tightly.
"When did this happen?"
Madara's expression changed as he glanced sideways, noticing that Mu, still partially invisible, had him in a tight grip.
Mu's unique ability to conceal his chakra entirely made him nearly undetectable, earning him the nickname "The Invisible One" in the ninja world.
From the beginning of the battle, Mu had stayed hidden, biding his time. With the other Kage working in tandem, he had drawn Madara toward him, waiting for this exact moment.
"Got you at last!" Mu said with a faint smile.
Almost simultaneously, the sound of Flying Thunder God echoed again.
Tobirama appeared behind Madara, bringing Retto along.
Without giving Madara a chance to react, two blades gleamed in unison.
Both of Madara's arms were severed in an instant.
But it wasn't over yet.
The Second Kazekage, Shamon, clapped his hands on the ground, causing streams of sand to rise up and engulf Madara layer by layer.
At the same time, the First Mizukage, Byakuren, who had been unable to use sealing techniques during the Battle of Kamigakure Valley, finally unleashed his sealing prowess.
In the blink of an eye, countless black sealing patterns, resembling tadpoles, spread across the sand encasing Madara.
As the sand and sealing jutsu completely consumed him, Madara looked calmly at Mu and asked, "You're not going to leave?"
The sand and seals showed no mercy, trapping both Madara and Mu together.
"A one-for-one trade seems fair," Mu replied expressionlessly.
Though he said this, he couldn't help but feel uneasy at Madara's complete lack of panic.
The next moment, both Madara and Mu were completely swallowed by the sand, the seals connecting seamlessly.
The sealing was complete.
Staring at the unmoving coffin of sand, Retto asked cautiously, "Is it over?"
The moment the words left his mouth, he froze.
Those words sounded eerily familiar.
He had said the exact same thing during the battle against Gensou, only to watch Byakuren die and Ai lose an arm.
Now…
Retto's expression hardened as he scrutinized the scene.
As expected, just as his gaze locked onto the sand coffin, a faint blue light began to emanate from it.
Before anyone could react—
Crack! Crack! Crack!
The sand coffin shattered into countless fragments.
The once-contained blue light erupted, expanding rapidly. It grew so massive that it burst through the ceiling of the chamber, continuing to swell.
By the time the light dissipated, the entire base—along with the surrounding area—was reduced to rubble.
Fortunately, this wasn't in the heart of the Leaf Village but at its outskirts. Otherwise, the casualties would have been catastrophic.
Amidst the rubble, sunlight pierced through the lingering dust, illuminating a colossal figure emerging from the haze.
Under the tense gazes of the Kage, the first thing they saw were two massive, armored arms, faintly visible through the dust and sunlight.
Then came the helmeted, majestic head; a body towering taller than nearby mountains; legs clad in heavy armor; and wings so vast they could cover the entire figure.
It was as if a war god had descended.
The sight before them was none other than the Perfect Susanoo.
At that moment, while the First Kage maintained their composure, the Second Kage were utterly shocked.
Although they knew Madara's strength was formidable, this display far exceeded their expectations.
The First Kage, in contrast, had already witnessed such spectacles during the Warring States Era. They had seen Madara's Susanoo many times, and while this Perfect Susanoo was stronger, they had also faced Hashirama's True Several Thousand Hands, which was even more overwhelming.
Even so, the threat posed by the Perfect Susanoo couldn't be ignored.
The sound of fluttering paper filled the air.
Perched within the brow of the Perfect Susanoo, Madara let his severed arms regenerate, looking down at the Kage with newfound interest.
"You've fought well enough to excite me, if only a little," he declared loudly.
"I hope you don't disappoint me from here on."
Boom!
With a single step from the colossal Susanoo, the ground quaked as it marched toward the Kage.
Having just finished regenerating, Mu glanced at the towering Susanoo before him and remarked, "This reminds me of Hashirama's wooden golem and Gensou's Flame God. Truly befitting of the Three Legends of the Warring States Era."
"This is what makes it interesting!"
Gengetsu grinned as he prepared one of his signature techniques, Steam Danger Tyranny, ready to see if the infinite explosions could destroy the behemoth before him.
Just then, the sound of something approaching rapidly from the direction of the Leaf Village broke the tension.
In an instant, the battlefield fell silent.
Both the First and Second Kage paused their movements. Even the Perfect Susanoo stopped mid-step.
Then, a loud, excited voice broke the silence:
"Hashirama!!!"
Hearing this, the newcomer turned his gaze toward the battlefield, his expression a mix of surprise and nostalgia. With equal enthusiasm, he shouted in return:
"Madara!!!"
Hashirama had rushed over after discovering the Edo Tensei base had collapsed. He initially thought it was due to another summoned figure, but to his astonishment, it was his old friend, Uchiha Madara!
After the inevitable round of loud greetings, Hashirama frowned in confusion. "Madara, why are you here?"
"That's not important!"
Madara waved dismissively, his eyes burning with excitement as he stared at Hashirama.
"What matters now is that I can fight you once again."
"Come, Hashirama! Witness my true strength!"
Before Hashirama could object, Madara's Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan morphed into purple, swirling Rinnegan.
Hashirama, about to speak, paused as he noticed the change and exclaimed in surprise:
"Huh? Madara, why do your eyes look like Gensou's?"
